No more Take One!
After this year, Take One! will be discontinued. Take One! was designed to break the process into smaller chunks. With the revised National Board certification process, all candidates will have that option.

Options for Take One Candidates……
Take One! Candidates who planned to “bank” their 2013-14 score for the future will not be able to do so . Knowing scores from 2013-14 will not be able to be applied to full candidacy in future years, each Take One! Candidate should consider changing to full candidacy in 2013-14. Opportunities to field test certain components of the new certification system will be announced by NBPTS.

What was the biggest obstacle to completing this goal?
“TIME!” “Not having a rubric to help understand
the expectations better was difficult.” “Writing the portfolio entries and
videotaping” “Putting it all together”
How has this process impacted your teaching?
“ I’m constantly focused on what’s important when I’m learning or teaching.”
“Because of this experience, I have the enthusiasm of a new teacher, with the experience of an old one !!”
There is not a day that goes by that I don't reflect on my teaching and the impact it has had on the students.
How has this process impacted your teaching?
“I am more reflective and purposeful in my teaching.
“This process has helped me keep focused on student learning.”
“I think more about what I do and why.” I know that it has made me much more
creative in my lessons. I think about everything I do.”
