The appeal of it I was immediately drawn to this

magazine cover because I was interested in the guitar held. The stylish wood looked expensive and the retro feel from the magazine I got straight from looking at it.

The classy burgundy, red struck out as a soft, hipster, mellow colour. However, I additionally thought of blood, glory, looking at the lavish painful red. Also, smashing things and a good time, a bit of ‘rock n roll’ and from this I felt it was alluring and I needed the magazine.

The contrast of colours suited well and not many were used which didn’t deflected were I needed to look.

Audience

On the website ‘music radar’ the layout and colour scheme is very mellow, cool and tuff like a typical guitarists. From the advertisements and mini stories I can tell that the audience of the magazine is aiming at is middle aged men to around the late 20s. The audience could vary and be a wider because it is based on helping people improve playing the guitar.

The appeal of it I was drawn to this magazine

because of the mast head ‘beats’ it stood out to me because of the black background and the Florissant blue shooting out at me. Also because the magazine is quite dull you immediately look at the main picture and the masthead.

I will be sure to design my own music magazine similar; taking only a bit of what I found from this magazine cover like the simple colours used and to use no more than three colours.

Magazines content The magazine is aimed at Hip Hop, Rap, and R&B fans to

promote music producers wanting a name for themselves and the latest and up coming artists as well as showing the DJs behind the scenes making the beats.

Also, the artists which are include in the magazine are well known, famous people like DJ Khaled, Calvin Harris and Skrillex. With the contrast of people on the front cover, it allows the audience to have a variety of artists to look at; so if they don’t like one, they may like another.
