The cumulative number of suspected cholera cases reported in Yemen since October 2016 is 1 156 246 including 2 468 related deaths with a case fatality rate of 0.21%. The country experienced a second wave of this outbreak from 27 April 2017. As of 31 July 2018, total number of reported cases of suspected cholera is 1 130 419 including 2 339 related deaths with a case fatality rate of 0.21%. Since 27 April 2017, a total of 5 028 stool specimens tested to date, out of these total 1 404 have been laboratory confirmed for Vibrio Cholerae. The 5 governorates with the highest cumulative attack rates per 10 000 are Amran (957.9), Al Mahwit (922.1), Al Dhale’e (646.1), Sana’a (567.6) and Dahamar (548.1). The national attack rate is 403.9 per 10 000. The Governorate with high numbers of deaths are Al Hajjah (429), Ibb (310), Al Hudaydah (293) and Taizz (190). In July 2018, the Ministry of Public Health and Population of Yemen reported a total 15 118 suspected cholera cases including 27 associated deaths (case fatality rate: 0.17%), from 17 governorates.

The cumulative number of suspected cholera cases reported in Yemen since October 2016 is 1 156 246 including 2 468 related deaths with a case fatality rate of 0.21%. The country experienced a second wave of this outbreak from 27 April 2017. As of 31 July 2018, total number of reported cases of suspected cholera is 1 130 419 including 2 339 related deaths with a case fatality rate of 0.21%.
