Chinese Trade and Transportation
By: Aidan Mirchandani And Gabriel Scopaz
GoodsMerchants were delighted
to trade along the Silk Road so that they could
be rich one day. Merchant’s hopes for
money were very high because other traders
could purchase for: bamboo, china, tea, salt, sugar and silk. Oh joy! Oh
joy! OH JOY!!!!!!!!!
MerchantsWithout them other
purchasers would come home empty handed and unhappy. Why? Because merchants are the ones who deliver the goods.
Understand?
CamelsCamels are the
transportation for merchants everywhere
traveling of the Silk Road. Merchant would be
restless without them. Camels have a lot of
strength because they have a hump on their back that keep all the food and water in for a
very long period of time. So heads up
camels!!!!!!!!!!
CanalsCanals are making trade
and transport much easier in China. The Grand Canal
is 1,100 miles long. It connected The Yellow River and The Yangzi
River. This is the world’s largest canal.
NavigationThe compass was a huge invention when it came to traveling on boat. Before
the compass was invented, people had a
slim chance of ending up where they wanted to be. Even today, people still
use compasses.
