There were 4 treasures of Ancient Chinese
calligraphy.
They were:
● the inkstone
● the ink
● the paper
● and the brushes
The Chinese used a brush rest to put their
brushes on when they were not using them. An
example of one is shown below.
They created the Wade-Giles pinyin system.
There is also a modern pinyin transliteration.
