RATThere are some unusual activities relating toprosperity this autumn. There may well beunexpected expenses, though equally for someRats, this chi can be the cause of suddeninspiration in which to increase resources, including new revenue. Check the small printwhen signing contracts and carefully weigh upthe pro’s and con’s of large purchases asexpenses could run high this autumn. On ahappier note romantic encounters are possiblewith the opportunity for enjoying the benefits ofmeeting new people and celebrating, especiallyduring September and parts of October.

OXNever afraid of working long hours and hard work, those bornduring the years of the Ox may well be feeling the strain of 2006this autumn with October looking especially tiring, though there willbe people close by that are trusting and helpful so delegate and usetheir services. Despite the benefits of steady progress, at work or athome there is an indication that some responsibilities may begin tofeel heavy or burdensome – but don’t give up as all indications arefavourable and from the end of this autumn and into winter peopleborn from the years of the Ox are likely to see and enjoy the fruitsof their labours.

TIGER2006 has all the ingredients Tigers need to generate opportunitiesfor success or to initiate big changes for the future and this autumnpromises even more power and status – though this is not the timeto become complacent as unexpected responsibilities are likelyduring parts of August and September. Scan the horizon for newadventure or new experiences, especially those that have a creativeor spontaneous quality, such as an impromptu visit to an art gallery,as there are suggestions that there appears to be more to asituation than that which meets the eye. Intuitive feelings promiseto reap great rewards so trust your judgements, throw caution tothe wind and try something new.

RABBITThose born during the year of the Rabbit should find that themajority of 2006 has been a time of harmony, success and progress. This autumn is no exception, however wise Rabbits willremember to be careful and will not be tempted to take risksas even with the best of luck, there is always the potential ofloss – which for 2006 is possible during the last week ofSeptember and the first week of October..

Flying Stars is a Feng Shui term given to the position of the planetswithin the Heavens and the gravitational influence they project intoour lives – this energy can be mapped and read by a Feng Shuiconsultant with extraordinary precision.

The benefit of Flying Stars is huge as we are given the opportunityto tap into, and to increase the levels of available positive energyaround us, while avoiding and decreasing the potential for negativityto develop.

Energy is constantly moving, by following the patterns of energycreated by the Flying Stars and altering our space to live inaccordance with their influence, we are able to create a greatersense of peace and harmony within our environment and daily life.

Included here is a seasonal overview of the movements of theFlying Stars during September and October 2006. Please contactJo for the Annual positions of Flying Stars and to discover how theFlying Stars are influencing your property now.

North – Angry outbursts are possible during September 2006when spending time sitting or facing the north direction, thoughtheir impact is likely to be short lived and will support the learningcurve that is the theme throughout the north direction this year. However this October a new influence becomes available which islinked to stomach complaints and other health problems, includinglethargy and laziness, though their effect will be temporary andshould have passed by the 7th of November. Opportunities forprosperity can still be found within the north direction thoughendurance and determination will be necessary as success is notguaranteed this year. Avoid sitting for long periods inside thisdirection during 2006. Construction changes to this sector will beunfavourable and prone to conflict or obstructions, especially ifthey’re initiated during September or October this year.

North East – There is favourable energy within thenortheast this autumn - September will be influenced by anenergy that is auspicious for academics and long term financialinvestments. It is also a good position in which to placephotos of helpful people, or friends and family members, especially those who are no longer with us, this autumn, though this energy will be weakened during October. support a calm atmosphere, concentration and the practiceof meditation, it is recommended to use crystals and photosof loved ones placed in alignment with the northeastdirection.

East – this is not such a favourable direction duringSeptember due to a short visit from an unlucky star. Theinfluence from the ‘Five Yellow Star of Misfortune’ will beslight but should be acknowledged all the same. The effectfrom this star can cause disruptions and obstacles to health, relationships and family get-togethers - it can be suppressedwith a small five bar metal wind chime hung in the east. From the second week in October the heaviness of theunlucky star will lift and the east will become a strongerdirection though some tension may remain from theprevious star. Increase the fire element with a lamp or ared accessory to burn away resentments and to injectfavourable yang energy into the east direction as necessary.

South East – is not a favourable direction to face or spendtime in during autumn 2006, especially during October due tothe potential of sickness, weight gain and other healthproblems. The difficult chi will need to be suppressed; thetraditional method is to use six coins, stacked in the corner.Avoid sitting with your back to this direction wherepossible. Do not store drinking water or medicine in thissector throughout 2006. Avoid placing lamps or candleswithin this direction throughout the year. It is notrecommended to face this direction during 2006 or carryout any construction changes to this sector all year.

South – This direction has been weakened throughout 2006and this autumn will be no exception, in fact during thisSeptember there will be an unfavourable influence that isassociated with sickness, though not too strong its influence willstill be unfavourable. October will fair better with an energy thatcan initiate change and recovery from prior difficulties thoughthere is still an influence that is associated with gossip. To reduceproblems place 7 long stemmed flowers in a metallic or roundvase with fresh water, refresh the water every other day.

South West – This is an auspicious direction throughout 2006especially relating to opportunities for prosperity and romanticencounters. This September will be especially auspicious forromance, especially if the southwest direction is enhanced withcandles or a light that is left on for at least 3 hours per day.October has a slightly challenging aspect which can lead tomisunderstandings, use the fire element with red accessories toreduce the potential for disagreements.

West – The west is a direction that is being influenced by anunfortunate star during the whole of 2006 and though this star isweakened by the energy of the west direction, this autumn willsee added support from the fire and earth elements, which willpromote unpleasant exposure including scandal and otherpossible aspects of misfortune, with September being the mostvulnerable. It is recommended to reduce the potential forunfavourable chi with a five bar metal wind chime - knock thechime regularly to disperse the star of misfortune. Avoidfacing or spending long periods of time in the west during2006, nor carry out any construction changes to this sectorthroughout the year.

North West – The energy of the northwest has beencompromised throughout most of 2006 with an energyinfluence that is normally associated with sex and romance, thisenergy does not combine well with the typical energy of thenorthwest and so tension and stress is the likely result. However this autumn there are some signs of harmonyregaining as the chi throughout September and October willsupport the chi of the northwest direction. Despite thepotential for harmony, romantic encounters with regard to thisdirection will not be supported and so to inspire relationships itis recommended to spend time within the southwest direction.Do not face or challenge the northwest with construction thisyear.

Centre - During the whole of 2006 the centre of allproperties will be influenced by an energy that is associatedwith conflict. However the potential for aggression andarguments is weakened considerably during September andOctober 2006. To suppress the potential for conflict further usered accessories or by keep a lamp on within this sector for aminimum of 3 hours/day.

One of the most enjoyable and fascinating waysto practice the art of Feng Shui is within thegarden. After all Feng Shui is entrenched in themannerisms of nature, and developing anyspace with the rich tapestries of availableplants and flowers can give an immediatesense of satisfying contentment that growswith each passing year.

The trouble is which plant and where, andwith so much on offer combined with thevariations in soil content, drainage and lightconditions to the uninitiated it can all too oftencreate a recipe for disaster which produces morechaos then oasis. This is where Feng Shui sparkles,as the main theme for Feng Shui is to work withnature and not against. A Feng Shui consultation forthe garden is invaluable as from a design perspective you will bebringing the optimum plants into their best locations withconsiderations that include the aesthetics of the home, Feng Shuiprinciples and the families astrology information.

A Feng Shui garden will take into account many variables, toomany to list in one go, and this autumn is no exception.Autumn 2006 has exciting energy relating to the fire, earth andmetal elements, therefore to make the most of your garden, withthe minimal of maintenance, consider adding stones, rocks orboulders. Immediately the garden will change in appearance, whether you use a fine shingle to develop a style similar tofamous Zen gardens hidden behind walls inside Kyoto, Japan oran outcrop of craggy boulders to symbolise the trinity ofBuddhism or of the mystical Mount Meru, even a small rockerydeveloped in a southwest or northeast corner will generate anenergy loaded with special meaning – and because stones androcks are representatives of the earth element the energy youwill be creating will be nourishing, grounding and stable, positivequalities that will continue to flow in and around the house andgarden all year round.

Feng Shui Garden TipsTo enhance prosperity for 2007, begin now by preparing flower beds by clearingaway annual bedding plants and by carefully pruning back any untidy shrubs, especially if they have branches that are rubbing against each other.

Autumn is the perfect time to restore goodness and nutrients to the soil with ahealthy mix of organic material as a top dressing or mulch. Not only will theorganic material provide essential minerals for plants to enjoy in the followingspring, you will be giving important protection during winter as well as suppressingfuture weeds from developing.

2007 will see an auspicious energy coming from the east and southeastdirections, this energy will be especially strong and potent during the spring seasonand can be stimulated with a colourful display within the garden. Financialopportunities can be reenergised, especially with flowers that blaze with fierycolours set off against rich and vibrant shades of deep purple.

By the end of October 2006 plant assorted tulip bulbs (to flower in the followingspring) within the east sector, use shades of red as a theme. The southeastsector will favour colours that are purple, blue or black based, such as the blackviola, dark purple parrot tulips or violet coloured crocus. For an earlier springdisplay plant smaller bulbs from the crocus and snowdrops families, which canalso be planted within the east and southeast sectors; just a few centimetresabove the tulip bulbs. Remember to plant the larger bulbs deeper into the soilthan the smaller bulbs. Finish the beds with a selection of red cyclamen toprovide a splash of yang positive chi as well as important eye catching winterinterest.

The Ancient Taoist’s knew a thing or two when it came to optimumhealth and the best ways to condition and nourish the body. Oftenthe simplest methods are the most effective for maintaining ahealthy mind, body and spirit. A crucial factor to our health is thefood and fluids that we absorb. It has long been documented that adiet consisting of processed, complex foods, or foods that do notcombine well, will eventually create problems within our health andwell being. A Taoist alternative is to eat foods that are abundant innature, and particularly ones that are as natural as possible, whichincludes dining on a seasonal diet.

Autumn is the season governed by the metal element according tothe Principles of the Five Element Theory. The metal element is theelement that is associated with the lungs, large intestine and skinwithin the body and an over-indulgent diet will put enormous strainupon these organs. Autumn is the perfect time to treat our bodiesto a seasonal cleanse and detoxification programme asrecommended by the Ancient Taoists to eliminate toxins whichcould otherwise easily build up and pollute our bodies' internalsystem.

Autumn seasonally has plenty of ripe apples and berries. Bakedapples are delicious and will support the digestive process, whileapple juice mixed with blackberries can fortify the body withessential vitamins and minerals.
