China’s Flag

Red with a large yellow five-pointed star and four smaller yellow five-pointed stars (arranged in a vertical arc toward the middle of the flag) in the upper hoist-side corner; the color red represents revolution, while the stars symbolize the four social classes - the working class, the peasantry, the urban petty bourgeoisie, and the national bourgeoisie (capitalists) - united under the Communist Party of China

The Great Wall• Several walls have been

built since the 5th century BC that are referred to collectively as the Great Wall, which has been rebuilt and maintained from the 5th century BC through the 16th century.

Tiananmen Square• Tiananmen Square is a large city square in the

center of Beijing, China.

The Golden Temple, one of many temples we visited.

As with most Taoist temples, you approach it by climbing up a mountainside on winding stone steps and pass

through a series of "Heavenly Gates". The three Heavenly Gates of the Golden Temple are highly decorated with

painted archivolts and carved beams and rafters.
