China Radio and Television Corporation Summary China Radio and Television Corporation for International Techno-Economic Cooperation The China Radio and Television Corporation for International Techno-Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as CRTV) is a directly subsidiary to the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (or SARFT) of the People’s Republic of China. The parent company is China Central Television (CCTV), and the integrated enterprise of China radio and television industry. New Outlook of CRTV For forty years, CRTV’s activities in the radio and television areas have been domestic. The SARFT’s new direction is to internationalize this strategy. Therefore it has launched a "project of radio and television going global” direction. SARFT encourages assistance and support of foreign projects with international radio and television entities in conjunction with the Ministry of Commerce. The aim is to foster relationships with 1,000 radio and television projects in 50 countries and regions worldwide. These relationships may fall into areas covering design, installation, commissioning and training project in audio and video, lighting, and related systems. These target areas of interest may be applicable in large-scale infrastructure including convention centers, stadiums and other large public buildings. CRTV maintains good relationship with hundreds of major broadcast television equipment producers in China and abroad. CRTV occupies a considerable market share in the professional equipment import market. CRTV specifically supervises and manages the Beijing International Radio, TV& Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV). This annual exhibition is hosted by SARFT but organized by China Central Television (CCTV). It is the largest international exhibition the China radio and TV industry. Its impact in this sector is far-reaching. CRTV International Media Co., Ltd. CRTV International Media Co., Ltd. is a state-owned company. In essence it is a for-self-sustaining enterprise with cultural focus. As a subsidiary of CRTV, it also deploys the China Central Television network. This company is tasked with the development and building of the Movie Industry Platform. In addition, it has oversight of the Financial Services Platform of SARFT. The company has established cinemas covering the urban and rural areas under the management of Digital Cinema Line (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and CRTV New Rural Digital Cinema Line (Beijing) Co., Ltd. They have also set up a professional film and television production company called CRTV Film Culture Co., Ltd. Under this entity, areas such as content production, film production, post-production, material provision and distribution, and film distribution are under its purview. Under CRTV Film Culture Co. Ltd. is more than 70 franchise theaters. This company also manages the four types of industry funds, viz. the Innovation investment Fund, the Venture Investment Fund, the Cultural Creative Fund and the CRTV Silk Road Fund. The funds are currently being prepared to include the Cultural Industry Fund of “the Belt and Road" of CRTV initiative. There is also an Acquisitions Fund of CRTV Cinema, and a fund for CRTV Theater Alliance (of China Radio and Television Corporation for International Techno-Economic Cooperation).
