Disaster & Environment Monitoring & Forecast Satellite Constellation (HJ-1A/B; HJ-1C)
Disaster & Environment Monitoring & Forecast
By utilizing satellite remote sensing technology, the constellation is to receive information about disaster and environment, to timely and fully master the occurrence, development and evolution process of natural disaster and environment pollution. Therefore to provide scientific decision-making basis for preventing and reducing the losses caused by environment and calamity damage, and eventually to improve capability of disaster reduction & environment protection.
CBERS (Cooperation b/t Developing Countries)
CBERS-1/01 & CBERS-1/02 launched in 1999 and 2003 respectively; China & Brazil government signed an Agreement on CBERS-1/02B satellite in 2004; In addition, China & Brazil government signed an Agreement for CBERS-1/03 & 04 satellites.
