Chimney Challenges Three of Lucknows four chimneys had succumbed to cracking and crumbling mortar over the years, resulting in rainwater entering the kitchen, library, and one of the guest bathrooms on the second floor. The Castle s team of restoration masons built sturdy scaffolding for each chimney project, then braved heights of up to 40 feet to repoint, repair, and cap the chimneys in 2016-2017. Chimney Challenges Three of Lucknow’s four chimneys had succumbed to cracking and crumbling mortar over the years, resulting in rainwater entering the kitchen, library, and one of the guest bathrooms on the second fl oor. The Castle’s team of restoration masons built sturdy scaffolding for each chimney project, then braved heights of up to 40 feet to repoint, repair, and cap the chimneys in 2016-2017. New copper fl ashing was added where the chimneys meet the terra cotta clad roof.
