I know I don’t have to tell you that the quilt show was fantastic. We received so many compliments from the guests. The membership really stepped up to help out, thank you all. An especially big thank you to Janet and Jean who put so much time into getting everyone and everything organized, it just would not be able to happen without leaders like these ladies. As you may already know we had an excellent financial result from the sale of the raffle tickets and the proceeds from the show, raising over $8000. More importantly we got to display our work for everyone to see and admire. Congratulations to Simone, Sandra, and Lori who were our prize winners this year but I truly believe everyone who showed their work is a winner. At this month’s meeting we have a small thank you for everyone who volunteered in any way towards making this show possible, if you aren’t going to be at the meeting please let me know so I can set one aside for you. As I listened to Jeanne talk last month about the establishment of the guild it really struck me as to how we have maintained some of the initial fundamental ideals of the founders….the guild is open to all no matter what experience they may bring, we are welcoming to everyone, we are encouraging, we are not judgemental about each other’s work and our membership fee is very reasonable. Once again ladies thanks for having that vision. A special thank you to Lori for that wonderful extra edition of the newsletter this month. I really don’t think she sleeps! GETTING TO KNOW GUILD MEMBERS

Sue Martin was born in Chilliwack and has lived here ever since. She attended school in Chilliwack and also attended college to become an insurance agent but after having her family she chose to quit and devote her time to raising them. She married Robert Martin, the boy next door in 1976. She has two children, a son and a daughter and five grandchildren. She became interested in quilting from watching her mother and grandmother quilt. The thing she likes most about quilting is the challenge of learning and doing something new. She

enjoys the guild for seeing other people's work and meeting new people.
