I know it still seems a ways off, but I want to tell you about some plans we have for Sunday, June 11th. In the morning, we will
be celebrating Youth Sunday in our worship services, with much of the music and preaching coming from our own stu-dents. We will also recognize this year’s graduates. I know you will want to support our young people that morning. Then after church the celebration continues! We are inviting everyone from both campuses to gather at a home-stead near Aylett (directions will be provided) for a church picnic and outdoor baptism. Our plan is to eat around 1:00. The church will provide fried chicken and drinks, and families can bring a covered dish to share. After lunch, we will gather at the edge of the beautiful quarry pond where we will be baptizing new members from both campuses. This is a great way to celebrate new life in Christ and our unity as One Church in Two Locations. June 11 will be a “casual dress day” so you can be ready to go straight to the picnic after church. If you have considered making a commitment to Jesus and being baptized, this is a great time to talk with me or one of our other ministers. Faith is meant to be shared and celebrated. Baptism is one way we do this. If the time is right, we would love to include you in this special day! God bless you all. Pastor Phil

11 new families that regularly attend.

Music Ministry Notes
The uninhibited praise of our youngest wor-shippers is one thing I will never tire of seeing. You can’t help but smile, and maybe even shed a tear, as our children sing and sometimes use their whole bodies as they worship. We saw this in April when the children’s choirs began our worship services on Palm Sunday wav-ing palm branches and singing. What joy it brought to my heart. On Sunday, May 4, at 4:30 p.m. at the Pole Green campus, the children will be presenting a pro-gram called “God’s Not Dead.” It will be a culmination of the year’s work from their choir time and Bible study/missions time each week. You will be encour-aged by what you see and hear, knowing that our Broadus children are on their way to being committed followers of Jesus Christ. You won’t want to miss it! Thank you to the great group of dedicated lead-ers that have helped me and Karen on Wednesday nights this school year: Donna Cowherd, Michelle Dodson, Linda Smith, Tracey Amos, Jessica Brann, Zach Tuckwiller, Tabatha Buchanan, and Ellis Dun-ton. Many others who serve in Sunday School classes and as nursery workers are also dearly appreciated! See you in worship, Carol

Lawn Mowing Our Pole Green Campus has hired a company to mow and trim directly around the buildings, but we need some volunteers who are willing to give 2-3 hours once a month to mow the fields using the church riding mowers. If you are willing to join the team, please con-tact Duane Hunter at 804-380-1975 or [email protected].
