Make a Holiday Memory at Merging Hearts Thru February 24, 2019 Families as well as individuals are welcome. Adults can make German Stars dipped in wax, and a longtime German tradition - the Putz House - made from paper with lots of glitter. Children can make pine cone elves, simple greeting cards, and sock Santas. Participants please bring: Scissors, Aileen's Glue, 1 clear and 1 colored glitter (glitter glue), and small jingle bell; if making sock Santas, bring 2 cups uncooked rice, 2 fists full of fiber fill, 1 pair kids white tube socks, 1 colorful (some kind of plaid or all-over design) foot sock, and 3 small buttons. Introduction to Light Language, Sunday, Dec 2, 2-4:00 pm, $25, buy tickets at merginghearts.org Language of light is a form of spirit communication where participants are connected to their spirit guides in order for them to communicate messages of love and support. President’s Message

As I reflect upon the previous year, there are a tremendous amount of positive things taking place at Merging Hearts. It takes quite a

number of people donating their time and talents to make it the thriving spiritual community that it is.

On all levels we are grateful for the ways people give of their time, talents, knowledge, energy, and financial contributions. If we com-pare our income from this fiscal year to last, we are essentially even, at around $23,000, which is close to our annual budget of

around $24,000.

However, due primarily to necessary, but unexpected expenses, like the repairs of parking lot and building, we ended up with ex-penditures totaling about $30,000, leaving us with a budget shortfall of $7,000, and about $12,000 in the bank. If we are to examine the financial model of Merging Hearts, it functions less like a for-profit holistic center, and more closely resembles that of a church, religious order, or intentional spiritual community. We are a non-profit organization that relies primarily on annual pledges to make up

a significant portion of our budget.

As an example, to make up half our budget through annual pledges alone ($12,000) would require 20 people contributing $600 a year, which is a pledge amount of $50 per month. This is merely a sample guideline, some may be able to give more, others less,

and we are grateful for any and all contributions that people can make.

As we look to the new year, we need your help. We will need to collectively work together to make Merging Hearts not only a surviv-

ing community, but a thriving community. Thanks in advance for your continued support.
