Background Research• Childhood obesity refers to the condition in which excessive amount

of body fat negatively affects health or well-being of a child. • The diagnosis of obesity is sometime carried out by body mass

index, as methods to measure body fat are not easy. • Childhood obesity is a serious health issue influencing several

children. Childhood obesity sometimes remain in adulthood and leads to health impediments.

• Obesity has been related with many medical issues including serious injuries, worsening of asthma, and initial onset of diabetes, early heart problems, and fractured bones.

• Some children put on weight due to medical reasons like under active thyroid gland, or other diseases, most of the children become overweight because of taking in more calories as compare to the usage.

• In a comparative analysis of 108 obese patients with hypothyroidism to 131 obese patients without hypothyroidism, it has been discovered by the researchers that those with hypothyroidism had just 0.077 points more on the caloric intake level as compare to those without hypothyroidism.

Primary Research• For this research, primary methodology is selected, which is

based on the collection of data from sample population. • It is the quantitative approach of research. In order to get the

data of childhood obesity, questionnaire will be distributed among some of the parents.

Conclusions• In the prevention of childhood obesity, schools play a big role by

offering a safe as well as supporting environment with the strategies and activities supporting healthy behaviors.

• Parents may assist prevent their child at home from becoming overweight by making changes in the way family eats and exercises.

• The better way children learn is by setting example, thus parents require showing the way by example by living healthy life.

• Most of the children fall short to work out due to the fact that they are spending time doing static activities like playing video games, computer usage or watching television.

• Moreover, technology has a big aspect on the liveliness of children. Consumption of sugar beverages of the child should be limited.

• Children should be given a lot of fruits and vegetables. • Television and other screen time must be limited to less

than two hours per day.
