Introduction and WelcomeChildren’s Workforce Continuing Professional Development Childcare and Early Years TrainingProgramme 2014 - 2015

Welcome to the programme of Continuous Professional Development for Childcare and EarlyYears, in relation to the Early years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

In providing this programme, Workforce Development recognises the need to ensure that allemployees have opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge, thus enabling them toperform their role to the maximum effect for the benefit of children, young people and theirfamilies.

This programme, alongside its other related multi-agency programmes e.g. safeguarding andschools, demonstrates our commitment to provide high quality training and developmentinitiatives in response to identified needs.

Included in the programme is a section signposting interested parties to other CPD providers.

As we now operate across the wider Children’s Services agenda, the Workforce DevelopmentTraining Programmes will provide employees with the opportunity to train and develop for thefuture, so that they will be ideally prepared to consider career opportunities as they arise.

It is with pleasure therefore that I recommend to you these opportunities for professionaldevelopment.
