In the early 1990’s, Joe Todaro III came up with the idea to sell La Nova’s World Famous Chicken Wings to pizzeria’s throughout the country. Pizza and Wings were such a winning combination in Buffalo, why not bring it nationally? In 1994, when Joey started La Nova Wings, Inc., he knew there was a tremendous opportunity to take our pizzeria’s success to a national audience.
The reaction to the introduction of our heat and serve product at the 1994 Pizza Expo was unbelievable. The crowd loved our aggressive sampling and was even more excited with the idea of adding a new item without adding any equipment to their operation. “I can’t believe these were frozen!” and “You just heat these up?” were just a couple of the comments people were making. Little did we know, we had started a trend! La Nova introduced wings to the pizza business, and in just a few years, we are the #1 seller of Authentic Buffalo Wings; and Buffalo Wing are now the top selling appetizer in the pizzeria industry!
