I am very thankful to our customers and to the whole Chiappa

Firearms team. We have been working together on a very engaging

project, the RHINO revolver, for the past two years. The success of

this innovative gun has been enormous, by far exceeding our most

positive expectations. Apart from the commercial success, I feel very

proud of the way we managed to develop a pioneering project and

of the courage that we and our customers showed when we chose to

embrace the Rhino program with enthusiasm, even in a moment of

    strong market recession.

My compliments and my gratitude to all!

Chiappa Firearms can boast a glorious history: the founder Ezechiele Chiappa

founded Armi Sport in 1958, and was among the pioneers who gave birth to the

    replica firearms world.

The activity developed along the years into an industrial corporation including

Armi Sport (defense and target shooting revolvers, replica firearms), Kimar

(blank, signal and small caliber guns), ACP (laser training system), Costa (metal

surface treatment), Chiappa Firearms Ltd (branch company in Dayton, Ohio).

The group is still proudly owned and controlled by the Chiappa family.

The production plant in Azzano Mella (Brescia, Northern Italy) has been structured

    in order to guarantee afl

    awless productionfl

ow, a cutting edge automation attop level in the field, and optimization of logistics. Artisanal abilities (such as

manual finishing and oiling of the stocks) cohabit with advanced technology (the

CAD/CAM system manages the full production flow, from design to machining

to deliveries). All components are manufactured in house, even moulds and

machining tooling which assures an excellent quality/price ratio for all Chiappa

    products.

    RHINO - A REVOLVER REVOLUTION

    RHINO

Modern revolvers are basically an evolution of the systems designed in the 19th century. While the latter w

based on a manual adjustment of each single weapon, the impossibility of manual adjustment by modern revolv

highlights all the conceptual defects of the old mechanics.

Rhino is the first revolver with truly modern mechanics, designed for a serial, industrial production. Each compon

is machined from solid steel with the most modern machinery available in the gun industry today. The result is

ultra smooth action, a perfect trigger pull, greater fluidity, lightness and steadiness when shooting.

The appearance is like no other revolver you have ever seen. Typically a revolver fires from the top most cham

which is aligned with the barrel. The new Chiappa Rhino barrel is aligned with the bottom most chamber whic

the key component to Rhinos tame characteristics. Due to the lower position of the barrel, the Rhinos appearanc

abstract from any other revolver design.

The position of the barrel lowers the center of gravity and yields a centerline of the bore more in line with the shoo

arm allowing for the most natural point ability while engaging a target.

The natural point-ability is only the start of where the Rhino stands alone, this characteristic drastically reducboth recoil and muzzle flip which insures subsequent shots to be on target faster than ever before. The reduction

the recoil allows for the use of ultra light alloys to be used in the construction of the Rhino minimizing any adve

effect. The flat sided cylinder design of the Rhino reduces the typical revolver profile allowing greater concealm

    REVOLVER ERGONOMICS

Defense revolvers, due to their reduced size and weight, are unpleasant to use. The hilt is often very thin, the mu

flip is strong as the fulcrum is relatively high. The negative consequence is that those who use this type of hand

for personal defense, mostly neglect training.

Rhino gives a new dimension to revolver ergonomics: its compact shape is not comparable to any other handgun

    the same caliber and class.

    Continued on pag

For decades, revolvers have remained essentially unchanged. Some have grown in size, weight, caliber and power.

Others have shrunk to be small, lightweight and concealable.

But, if you compare a revolver from the 1920s to one made just last year there would be

many more similarities than differences. The Chiappa Rhino is changing that. It is a complete paradigm shift in revolvers.

Instead of merely being another evolutionary change it truly is revolutionary.

The first of the revolutionary changes is where the gun

fires from. Instead offiring from the top of the cylinder

it fires from the bottom. While it doesnt seem likemuch of a change, you really have to shoot it to feel the

difference. The recoil in the gun comes straight back

into the hand. There is little to no muzzleflip.

The first time I fired the gun the recoil was so light and

flip non existent I asked if they had any .357 Magnum

rounds to try. Not something Id normally look

forward to in an alloy framed revolver. To my surprise

I had just fired a cylinder full of Magnums. Stuffed full

of .38 Specials, the gun feels more like shooting a .22

Long Rifle. At least in terms of muzzle flip.

There is still a bit of push back in the hand.

Since the bottom cylinder fires, a conventional hammer

would not have worked. Instead the revolver is striker

fired and the mechanism is internal. The trigger does

feel different from old school revolvers. Not bad,

just different. The trigger is also easily tunable using

different springs. 5 pound pulls can easily be achieved,

as long as the proper ammunition is used.

The Rhino has real potential for competitive shooting.

Im looking forward to getting my hands on one for a

more in depth test and trying it out at some USPSA,Steel Challenge and ICORE events.

The cylinder has a hexagonal section, so you will always have a flat surface

against your body, for maximum comfort. The cylinder release is designed to

allow you to open the cylinder easily with one hand. The grip of the revolver

can be either wood or neoprene, and designed to allow for a steady grip even

if your hands are sweating; sporting / competitive versions are available with

three grip sizes to perfectly fit the hand and the style of the shooter.

The position of the barrel on the Rhino is about 3cm (1.20) lower than a

standard revolver, the overall ergonomics and the angle of the grip allow

overall handling of the gun to be about 1 cm (0.3) higher than average.

The physical traits of the Rhino lower the recoil and muzzle flip when

compared with other revolvers. These differences are due to the amplification

that the standard designed revolver has and the effect of the lever of a

force. In comparison, the Rhino has a decrease of the forces at the grip of

about 60% due to the shape of the grips and innovative design.

Te Rhino will eventually be oeredin a number o barrel lengths, but the2-inch snubbie is the frst model to hitAmerican shores.

Tis makes a great deal o sense tome, as it is the snub that still enjoys hugepopularity with those who are concernedwith their personal security.

Excellent ergonomics are paramount in the

The shrouded ejector rod is located

When I entered law enorcementin the mid-1970s, the snubbie revolverwas the o-duty gun. While a ew hardchargers would carry a 1911, Commanderor Browning Hi-Power, most o us behindthe badge carried a snubbie.

Heck, or many the snub .38 Specialwas a basic academy graduation present.Te snubbie hasnt changed much over thelast 75 years, being basically the same gunas when it was introduced. Te act is thecurrent revolver is a 19th century designthat has changed little over the years.

Recently I had the opportunity totest and evaluate a new snub revolver thatis truly dierent, one that might very wellchange how all o us look at the combative

revolver. Introduced by the Italian-basedChiappa Firearms, the Rhinorevolver is just as brutish as its namesake, but that is where this characteristic ends.Machined rom solid steel/aluminumusing the most up to date technology, theresult is a truly unique wheel gun thatwill satisy even the most hardcore pistolshooter. Dont let the unusual appearanceput you o, the Rhino is a space-age designmade or serious shooters.

rom the short 2-inch barrel.Te position o the barrel lowers

the bore centerline more in line with the

shooters arm allowing or a more naturalpoint when engaging a target. For example, the height o the

bore over the orearm o the worlds mostpopular revolver, the Smith & WessonModel 10, is 2 inches.

he height o the bore over theorearm or the Rhino is a mere 0.75 oan inch-a signifcant dierence.

Te Rhinos sight line is also lowabove the orearm, which allows theshooter to get on target more naturallywith greater accuracy and speed, somethingsemiauto users will appreciate.

As previously stated, this eature alsodrastically reduces recoil and muzzle-ip, which insures subsequent shots will beon target aster than ever beore-a criticalcomponent in any fghting handgun.

his reduction o elt recoil dueto advanced design permits the use oultra-light alloys in the construction othe Rhino, making it easier to carry andconceal.

Te Rhino will be available withthree dierent trigger actions, one beinglighter and easier to press than the next.Chiappas president Ron Norton toldme that two o the trigger actions areor competition only and require certaintypes o primers, etc. Tese two triggeractions are not or use in a gun that isintended or personal security. At thesame time, Norton explained that Chiappaunderstands there are a large number oshooters who use revolvers or competitivepurposes and they want to make theirnew design available to them as well, so acompetition-level trigger will be oered.

At irst I thought the extremeupward angle required to grip the gunand engage the trigger ace would inhibitast and accurate shooting but this wasnot the case. In act, the Rhino was almostintuitive in how it elt in the hand.Indents in each side o the rame alsohelp get the index fnger on the triggerace comortably without having to overextend. Te Rhino also eatures an abilityto have the barrels changed, permitting theRhino to be adaptable to the feld or as aservice/duty sidearm. None o these ront sightblades were yet available when I receivedmy test gun so I just did my old stand bymodifcation o painting the ront sightblade orange. Tis gave me a very amiliarsight picture, looking a lot like that on myGlock pistol in confguration.

will ever replace a ocused shooter that isconcentrating ully on the gun they areworking with at any given moment. Itonly takes a quick second or tragedy tohappen, so whenever any frearm is beinghandled, complete attention should be

given to itperiod. Te all-black fnish omy test revolver gave the Rhino a very nononsense appearance, which I happen toike. I also like the location o the cylinderrelease latch, which is well above the gripat the back o the rame. Te latch is easyto manipulate by merely pushing downon the ample shel and rolling the cylinderout o the let side. Te cylinder cranes robust and solid as is the ejection rod

and star. However, Ron Norton told methat they have been looking at bolstering

both o these to make sure that bothwork as intended. Apparently in earlytesting, the ejector star was able to jumpover expended cases in the cylinder andChiappa wants to make sure that this neverhappens in the feld or on the street. Ronis a retired police o cer so he understandswhat is needed in a combative handgunand he wants to make sure th at the Rhinois all that it can be.

While the Rhino is certainly notthe most handsome handgun I haveever tested, it did turn out to be one othe most satisying. I instantly liked the way the Rhino elt in my hand. hegrip allowed or a solid hold even whenmy hands started to sweat. I started mytest by shooting various styles o ammo,o-hand at 50 eet on Birchwood CaseyDirty Bird targets. While I could havebenched the gun, this is not what a snubbieis intended or and being able to get a eel

or the trigger while holding the gun ontarget is essential. While I was very satisfedwith the accuracy o the Rhino, it deservesa bit o explanation.

While the .38s were easy to shootwell, the .357 Mag rounds proved to bequite challenging. My frst grouping wasover 4 inches, but I quickly realized thatit was not the Rhino but me trying to

get over the initial concussion. My nextgroup hovered around 3 inches with the

third group being 1.5 inches. When Ifrst started shooting, I used the thumbs-orward grip that I usually use whenshooting a pistol and it worked quite wellwith the unique design o the Rhino. When I changed over to the magnumrounds, it got a bit m ore exciting.

When shooting the Rhino it is wiseto remember that the cylinder to barrel gapis just above the lower rame and i any oyour fngers are orward o this gap you willbe reminded that this is not a good ideaquickly as hot gasses are expelled rom thisregion. I mentioned this to Ron Nortonand he advised that he was also awareo this and Chiappa is currently lookingat equipping the Rhino with a shield(modiying the rame to redirect gassesorward and upward) that will protect thefngers rom escaping gases.

I hope they move orward with t hisidea, as I really like the idea o being ableto grasp my pistols and revolvers in thesame ashion without having to relocatemy thumbs.

For un, but also or t raining with little expense, Chiappa Firearms is producing the model Mour-22, a semiautomatic

carbine in caliber .22 LR that replicates the well-known American Military Carbine. Our test revealed that this tool isaccurate and easy to manage.

Chiappa Firearms is a modernindustrial complex, producing severaltypes o small arms destined or the civilianmarket: ranging rom lever action carbinesto muzzle loading ries, rom revolverRhino (Action Arms tested it in issue No13) to blank guns; some o their productsare branded Kimar, some others ArmiSport. Te recent opening o a plant inthe U.S. (Dayton, Ohio) coincided withthe expansion o the range to a new trend:that o semiautomatic weapons caliber22LR. Tis product is very appealing inthe U.S. market, a voracious consumero these small but precise and enjoyablecartridges, as well as a major consumer o22LR weapons. So ar Chiappa Firearmshas included in its catalogue a replica orevolver Colt SAA 1873, pistol Model1911 and M4 carbine; another modelinspired by the Beretta 92 FS pistol isshortly expected and, later, a .22 cal rieresembling the .30 Caliber M1Carbine.In these pages we will talk about a weaponderived rom the U.S. Army M4 Carbine,i.e. model Mour 22 caliber 22 LR. f

The mfour-22 is also available with stock, grip and forend in Tan color.

ESS OF HE MONH - RIFLES

With good taste and remarkabletechnical skills, Chiappa Firearms hascreated a really well made and aithulreplica; high-strength polymers weremainly used, rightly so as to contain costs, but the overall result is surprising.

Te upper receiver, barrel and themagazine would be interchangeable withthose o the normal M4, thereby makingit possible to convert these weapons intoa simple and inexpensive 22 LR caliber;however, due to the usual bureaucraticissues related to the National Catalogue,

this possibility does not apply to theItalian public: to prevent improper use,Chiappa Firearms has made sure thatthe two pins that couple the upperand lower receivers are not compatibleor mounting on the original M4. TeChiappa Mour-22 is a 1:1 scale o theoriginal: it weighs a little less and hassimplifed mechanics because it uses aless powerul cartridge. It oers the sameeeling, though, and the handling is alsosimilar (sights, controls, trim, etc.).

The blade front sight, adjustable in height,is made of steel; its triangular support is

not working as a gas outlet - unlike theoriginal M4 - but the low power of the 22

    the original.

The magazine is built using exclusivelyhigh-strength polymers and its outer size

is Mil-Spec. Due to the usual red tape, inItaly it has a capacity limited to 5 rounds.

The charging handle is made of

The Chiappa Model 1911-22 is a rimfire replica of the most well-knownfirearm designed by John Browning.

The original M1911 was a single-action, semi-automatic pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. It was the

standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985, and is still carried by some U.S. forces.

In total, the United States procured around 2.7 million M1911s and M1911A1 pistols during their service life.

Chiappas 1911-22 family offirearms is manufactured using leading edge techniques and high quality modern materials. It

utilizes a unique action which differs from that of the Browning design, while providing similar characteristics and feel.

Modiying the Model 1911 toshoot .22-caliber ammunition with anupper unit eaturing a lighter slide, small-bore barrel and lighter recoil spring, andsubstituting a rimire-size magazine is

hardly a new idea.Firearms instructors and precision

shooters have been doing this or manyyears to improve and increase not onlytheir own shooting opportunity, but alsothat o their students.

Many o these conversion units havebeen adapted to small game hunting and

target competition, and I requently seethem advertised in dierent periodicalsor gun show bulletins. Likewise, I haventattended a gun show in some time whenI didnt see a couple o these conversion

While the pistol looks like a

Model 1911, it does not stripdown like one. The barrel is

fixed to the frame, and the

slide must be pulled to therear, raised off the rails and

The fixed barrel contributes to the pistols accuracy, which Workman found to be good enough to hit a tin can at 25 yards.

Chiappa designers incorporate arather simple key-activated iring pinblock saety at the rear o the slide. urnit counter-clockwise and a block rotates

up around the fring pin, protecting itrom the hammer. urn the key back theother direction, and the fring pin is ullyexposed.

Te thumb saety may be engagedwhether the hammer is cocked or down(the pistol may be carried saely cocked andlocked), and overall, the 1911-22 is hardlydisappointing in ulilling its primary

Government Model save or the initialappearance.

Upon close examination, onequickly discovers that this hammer is

powered by a rather lightweight springrather than a coiled mainspring as on theJohn Browning designed centerfre pistol.

Likewise, the recoil spring is ratherlight; it only has to handle the mildrecoil o a .22 Long Rie, which is hardlyanything at all in this pistol. Te lightrecoil spring makes operating the slide tochamber a round rather easy.

The length of the barrel bushing is one of the significant departures from the standard

    Model 1911 design.

A glance into the receiver from the topshows that there is a considerable

difference between this pistol and a

    Government Model.

The fixed barrel has an integral feed ramp, and Workman found that the pistol functionedvery well with all kinds of .22 Long Rifle

Chiappa designed this pistol with an external extractor that could double as a loadindicator if one looks closely.

The rear sight is dovetailed into the slide and held in place by a tiny slotted screw.

The front sight is a blade that is actually part

of the slide; it is designed to be gently fileddown in order to raise the point of impact in

the event the pistol shoots too low.

a defnite impression delivered by the fringpin. Upon rechambering both rounds witha dierent part o the rim under the pin, both discharged.

My suspicion is that the primingcompound simply had not flled the insideo the rim in these cartridges, which hashappened to me beore several times in allkinds o dierent .22- caliber handgunsand ries.

For me, thats not a big deal, thoughi it happens enough, it can be downrightannoying.

Lets look at the clear dierencesbetween the Chiappa smallbore and agenuine 1911: For starters, the barrel isfxed to the rame. Like most o the pistol, the barrel body is largely made rom anon-errous alloy with a ried steel innerbarrel tube. Te act that this barrel is

fxed to the rame defnitely enhances thepistols accuracy. While the 1911-22 has a barrel

bushing, this is hardly like a traditionalModel 1911 bushing.

Tis thing is a rather long tube thatdoes hold a recoil spring cap in place. odisassemble, make sure the chamber is clearand eject the magazine.

Press out the slide stop rijust like on a Government Mothe bushing and remove therecoil spring but then bring the rear and lit it o the rails slighallowing it to move back orwathe rame and fxed barrel.

The stock panels are genuine walnut withcheckering.

A big advantage of the Model 1911-22 is that

itfits any standard Government Model holster.

Workman found that it slipped right into his old

    tanker model shoulder holster.

The Chiappa also fits perfectly in this HighNoon horsehide pancake-style holster.

This setup might be good for people who hike

and hunt small game along the trail.

A few days later, when the Northwest rain let upbut the temperature stayed cool, Workman was

back at it, producing this group with Federalhollowpoints.

Theres a manually engagedfiring pin block

safety in the slide that is turned into the safeposition with a small two-pronged key that

    comes with the pistol.

comortable, flled my hand properly andenhance the appearance o the pistol.

Te Chiappas magazine is polymer, and people will either like it or hate it.

I dont believe there is any happymedium, and that is a matter o personalpreerence rather than whether themagazine is unctional or not. I had notrouble with the magazines, which hold10 rounds (or 11 i you push in an extraround) and the magazines that came withboth o my test pistols worked perectly.

I was not terribly impressed with themagazine release, which is also polymer.Tis is a piece that gets plenty o wear, andthat can translate to abuse when somebody

At the range, Workman found the

Chiappas trigger to be a bit stiff, butonce he got the hang of it, he began

    punching fairly consistent groups.

Notice that he conducted this sessionin the rain.

Using Winchester 40-grain roundnose leadbullets, author saw this group fired offhand

open up a bit, but it is still plenty tight at 15yards to put the hurt on a cottontail.

slams a magazine home repeatedly.I would be more comortable with a

magazine release made rom the same alloyas the rest o the pistol, but presumably thisis a cost-saving measure.

I would suggest careully insertingmagazines into the pistol and press therelease during insertion so that the loadedmagazine does not continually pound intothe interior catch that fts in the magazineslot to hold it in place.

So, what about shoohandgun? rust me on this, crank the 1911-22 up to ull ssurprising just how much ammucan put down the tube and not

Popping tin cans and puaccurately through BirchwoShoot-N-C targets becomes until one suddenly discoversammunition has been shot up.

I would not recommebargain basement rimfre ammthis pistol, or any smallbore fthat matter, but its been my ethat some o the less expensiveRile ammunition available tshoots particularly dirty. Tat i

a considerable amount o powdaround the chamber and breewill crud up these areas ast. (Ivexperience with Browning and Rauto pistols, which were so oumoderate amount o shooting tserious brushing and lots o Ho9 to clean up the mess!)

    Thats a fully operational thumb

o my delight, the slide holdsopen ater the last shot, just like on a realGovernment Model, and once a reshmagazine is inserted, a gentle pull on theslide and a quick release puts this pistolback in battery. All o my rounds ejectedwide and slightly to the right rear, as theyshould have.

The 1886was originally produced from 1886 until 1935.

The original Winchester Model 1886 was created by gunsmithing genius John Moses Browning. Unlike the weak toggle-link

actions of preceding Winchesters, the 86 incorporated two solid steel locking lugs that slid up on either side of the bolt when

the lever was closed, thus making a rock solid arrangement for the longer-cased big-bore cartridges that were gaining in

popularity, specifically the .45-70 Government. An added benefit of Brownings design was the action, smooth and faster to

cycle than any other Winchester before it. The 86 became an instant success and saw sporting service worldwide and became

the personal favorite of Theodore Roosevelt who was rumored to take his 1886 everywhere.

    Replica and much more

    Action Arms, December 2011

    by Alessandro Magno Giangio

For experts and connoisseurs o lever arms, the Winchester Model 1886 is the pinnacle or leverarms o the era,

especially or big game hunting. Chiappa Firearms has paid a tribute to this iconic frearm with replica models and a modern

variant. Tese frearms, unique and suitable or hunting, perectly combine two synergistic requirements: originality, and

evolution o the species to a more modern target or use by extreme hunters: the 1886 Kodiak.

Anyone who ventures in creating areplica o the Browning designed 1886 isaced with a serious responsibility: which, since its inception has been known as the

    rie-o-the-ries, or r iemans rie.It was Tomas Bennett, son-in-law

o the great Oliver Winchester, who in1884 demanded a lever rie or big gamehunting that could handle the powerul45-70 caliber. He had heard o two

brothers rom Utah who were consideredexcellent designers and developers o

robust, reliable and powerul frearms, sohe decided to pay them a visit in Ogden.Te two were named, respectively, JohnMoses and Matthew Browning; Bennet

bought rom them the project and rightsor two models that soon thereater, would make history in big game hunting:a single-shot, alling block rie destinedto give birth to the amous Model 1885High Wall, and a lever action that wouldbe named the Model 1886.

caliber.45-70, lever guns entered a newdimension o big game hunting, no longercarried out by exterminators o bison(at that time the great herds had already

been decimated) and trappers, but that osubsistence hunting, deense rom wildanimals and, later, sport and recreation.

But it wasnt just that: the 1886was the most aordable big game huntingweapon or all hunters, the one that leadout o the black powder into the smokelesspowder era. In act, it was enough or the

manuacturer to replace the standard barrelwith a high nickel steel barrel.

    he 1886s mechanical action,

supple and precise, later gave birth to ahuge commercial success, which was themodel 1892. A concentration o basicideas and solutions, which was to carrythe American civil gun industry into anew dimension. Te Model 1886 was amassive weapon, weighing between 9 and10 pounds depending on the caliber andconfguration, but very well balanced witha ast and smooth action.

he locking system, with twomassive steel locking skids sliding throughthe receiver inside the let and rightindents, enabled the model 1886 tochamber all o the nine high perormanceblack powder calibers o its time as well asthe 45-70. Te 1886 was chambered in.38-70, .38-56, .45-90, .40-70, .40-60,.40-82, .50-100, and .50-110, plus the .33Winchester, that was t he second smokelesspowder cartridge ater the .45-70.

During its long lie, the Model1886 was oered by Winchester in the ullmagazine version (5 shots), hal magazine(3 shots), octagonal barrel, round barrel,

long-barreled rie, short-barreled carbineand other custom versions. It remainedin production or over 50 years until1935, with variations o the action lastingbeyond that.

he rising production costs, economic crisis and consequent need toreduce the range o models, along with new

hunting trends in North America (bolt-action weapons, telescopes and magnumcalibers), suggested to Winchester a urther

generational development. Te evolutiono the species was continued with themodel 1871, which was released in 1936, just one year ater the decommissioningo 1886. In act, the new model 1871represented a urther development o the1886, not just businesswise but, withtechnical advances as well.

In 1986 , in ce leb ra t i on o the Centennial o the Model 1886,Browning Firearms Corporation, nowowning the Winchester brand - decidedto remanuacture a limited edition o thesetwo models entrusting their production tothe Japanese subsidiary Miroku.

Tese 100 year anniversary modelswere produced in dierent editions and, currently, production has been resumed inthe U.S. with two models, the Extra Lightand High Grade and only available in theU.S. A ew frearm manuacturers, mainlyItalian, given the signifcant amount orequests rom North American hunters, have recently decided to embark in themanuacturing o replicas o the Model

1886. Tese products have immediatelywon the avor o the general public in theU.S., mainly or t heir excellent mechanicaldesign and the quality o materials.

he reason why many Americanhunters and hunting guides require an1886 in. 45-70 is that there are manycartridges o this caliber on the market

Clearly aweapon suitable or this wild auna andthese environments must possess: qualityo materials, total reliability, accuracy andsignifcant levels o available power.

Te .45-70 is still the avorite caliberin those places and hunting contexts, mainly because cartridges are readilyavailable and have a large and widespreaddistribution. Chiappa Firearms model1886 Kodiak was designed to meet thesespecifc needs; these needs are certainly

not those o our hunters o wild boar, butare certainly very close, especially in termso di cult environments and conditions. Now about the use o the caliber 45-70 orwild boars, my opinion is that we do notneed extreme cartridges: standard 300grain JHP and JSP cartridges are more thanenough or, better yet, the new HornadyLeverEvolution 325- grains is perect.

he Chiappa Firearms Kodiakrie can be considered a perect synthesisbetween the original model 1886 madeby Browning / Miroku and a modern ree

is chambered in .45-70 (the strong pointo the 1886), a caliber that, as mentioned, provides levels o kinetic energy suchthat it can harvest rom wild boars toelephants, great accuracy, very goodavailability o commercial ammunition

ChiappaFirearms is producing this frearm withmaterials and manuacturing processes(especially the barrel, rame and action),that are by ar more modern and robustthan by the original and that guaranteea superior internal and external ballisticperormance. Additionally, the barrel, rame, lever and magazine eature a specialmatte hard chrome-plating that has theappearance very similar to stainless steel.Tis plating process allows this short rie
