Chesterbrook Academy Cary – Preschool Summer Camp 2020

As a continuation of our Links to Learning® curriculum,

camp offers a fun-filled summer program for children Pre-

kindergarten thru rising Kindergarten. Each week,

preschoolers jump into action, participating in fun and

exciting activities.

Our preschoolers have the opportunity to expand their

horizons during the summer, embarking on new

adventures, and having fun!

Although we want the children to have the best summer

possible, we can’t forget about all they’ve learned during

the school year.

Our Links to Learning summer curriculum is designed to

review and strengthen skills taught during the school year.

Various academic activities will be integrated throughout

your child’s daily summer experience.

Our camp program will inspire your child’s mind to engage,

explore, create and stay active this summer!

Brain GamesOur little learners will join forces to

solve puzzles and complete matching while developing problem-solving and

reasoning skills.

Major LeaguerCampers will practice sportsmanship

through sports and games that focus on sharing, taking turns and being a good

friend.

GlobetrotterBuckle up! We’ll be going on a cultural adventure around the world to learn about different customs, traditions,

and food.

Art BuddiesCampers will put their creativity to

the test as they use a hodgepodge of materials to create wacky and abstract

masterpieces.

Friendship TreeCampers will work together to collect donations for children in need. In the

process, they’ll learn about the valuable role of community service organizations.

Zoom InCampers will practice fine motor skills

as they draw pictures and explore photography and cameras.

Shake it OutDon’t just stand there… bust a move!

Through dance, drama and music, campers will practice self-expression

while tapping into their inner performer.

S.T.E.A.M. SquadCampers will discover a magical place

where science, technology, engineering, art and math come together to ignite curiosity and

problem-solving skills.

Splash ZoneSplish, splash! Campers will keep cool

this summer as they play water-themed games, explore at water tables, run through sprinklers, and much more!

Safety TownWe’ll honor local police, firefighters,

military and other community helpers, and show campers how they too can

help by giving back and following safety rules.

Clay PlayWe’ll be making quite the mess this summer as campers participate in

hands-on, multi-sensory art projects using clay.

Eco-ExplorersSunshine, water and nurturing is all

it takes for a tiny seed to grow into a plant. Our campers will discover firsthand how weather and the

environment affect living things.

What to Expect

We have added extra procedures to keep your child safe and healthy this summer in accordance with CDC guidelines and local and state recommendations.

We can't wait to see our campers this summer! In the last few months, we've been consulting with state and local health officials to ensure that our day campers and our counselors will have a fun, safe experience this summer at CBA Summer Camp.Please read the following information to learn more about what we're doing to maintain a healthy environment and what you cando before you bring your child to CBA Summer Camp. Please note: these protocols may change based on CDC guidelines and state and local directives.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP INFORMATIONSummer Camp hours will be 8:00 to 4:00. Drop off and pick up will be run via carpool. Our staff will greet you outside when you arrive and when you come to pick up yourchild.All campers arrive at camp with sunscreen already applied. Spray bottles recommendedDAILY HEALTH SCREENING AND SAFETY MEASURESWe will take the temperature of all CBA Summer Camp Counselors each day.We will take the temperatures of campers prior to entry each day. Temp’s of 100.4 or higher will not be admitted and must stay home and be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication for reentry. We will require all CBA Summer Camp Counselors will wear gloves and wear masks while inside and while outside if social distancing cannot be maintained.We will require all campers to wear cloth face coverings, these are only to be removed when eating, drinking and while outside when able to social distance. Any staff or camper who comes in contact with or comes down with COVID-19 will follow additional protocols.WHAT TO BRING Pack an extra pair of clothing in a Ziploc bag labeled with you child's first and last name (is recommended, but not always needed). Lunch from home. WHAT TO WEARComfortable, weather-appropriate clothing for gym games and outside time. Sneakers.MEDICATIONSIf your child needs to take medication during the day, please bring the medication in the original container with your child’s name on the container. Please complete the CBA Medication Authorization Form.

What to Expect

While some things have changed, you can expect a fun, safe summer for your child led by caring, trained counselors.

CREWS Campers will still be placed in groups of 9 with one CBA counselor.Campers will remain in their crews and with their counselor and doing different daily activities.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIESAll planned activities will be fun! Our creative staff team has planned activities that are engaging and that will also keep your children as safe as possible while allowing for social distancing, minimizing the equipment being passed from person to person and large group play activities.While campers will remain with crews and counselors, activities will be more individually focused. . These activities include Arts and Crafts, Gym Games, Outside Time, Brain Games, STEM activities and more!Campers will be outdoors or in open, well-ventilated areas.Lunch will be held in class with cohorts. Unfortunately, due to state and local directives, we will not offer field trips, swimming lessons, specialty camps our outside vendors.

MAINTAINING A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT EACH DAYCampers will wash hands upon arriving at camp, before and after lunch, before and after going outside and at other times during the day.Frequent disinfection of high-touch, high-traffic areas and daily, overnight enhanced cleaning.Activity areas and equipment will be cleaned in between groups.
