FROM THE PRESIDENT Well here we are in March after a tough winter. By the time we have our meeting this month thankfully spring will be here officially with hopefully warmer weather. The meeting for March should be something special. Pat Gaines is going to lead us in a blind auction. Everyone should bring a wrapped/bagged item (no junk) to be entered in the auction. Each mystery item will be auctioned to the highest bidder (no trading) with the proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Who knows what treasure you might win. This should be a fun night. Looking forward to seeing you all there and bring your wallet! Fred

COVER CAR – 1969 PONTIAC FIREBIRD I bought this 1969 Pontiac Firebird T-Roof in Delaware in 1980. It was in gray primer and had a locked up 350 engine which I knew I could rebuild. I rebuilt the 350 and installed it in my sons 1969 LoMons convertible which he is still driving. We painted the Firebird in 1983, flat yellow and had it pinstriped in 1984. The Firebird has had many engines, a 389, two 400’s and a 350. In l987 I installed a 1971 Olds 455 and it was there until 2006, when I changed engine one more time, a 1968 Cadillac 500 engine and as of today it is still there. Over time I put an Olds Hurst, T-Top, a trans and shaker hood scoop and front spoiler. It has power steering and power brakes. Car runs excellent and it is a daily driver in the summer. Owner: Jim Mattia, Jr.

MARCH PROGRAM AUCTION NIGHT The program is called “Auction Night”. It will take place at the March meeting. It might be nice to have someone take a photo or two to publicize our club in the newspapers such as the Daily Local or the Community Courier. The proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please bring a wrapped item (can be in a tote bag, wrapped in brown paper, etc.) Place the item on the front table. As you sign in, you will be given an auction number to be used should you wish to bid on a blind item. Kindly re-gift something, purchase something or find a treasure in your house and wrap it!! No junk please. We will start the bidding right after the business meeting and move quickly along. Please bring small bills and change with you. Pat Gaines will run the auction, but will need 2 – 3 runners to help deliver items right after each bid closes. The “runners” will deliver the items and collect the money to be given to the Treasurer. Also needed will be “spotters” who will help to identify the winning bidders. Come and have lots of fun for a very worthy cause. For the April meeting, we are asking members to bring a canned food or non-perishable item for the Chester County Food Bank. Pat Gaines

REFRESHMENTS Refreshments supplied by the Hitchens and Tarts were variety of fruit and sweets and drinks. March refreshments will be supplied by the Deanes and Morton's. Judi Deane

BREAKFAST ANYONE

A group meets at the Cracker Barrel, Route 30, Downingtown every Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Normally they hide them at the very back of the restaurant as am sure they get a little rowdy at times. You get to hear a lot of good stories, a lot of laughing and of course enjoy good food. So some Tuesday morning you are up and about, and want to get out, stop over and enjoy breakfast.

BLOND JOKES FROM HUGH Two blondes were going to Disneyland. They were driving on the Interstate when they saw the sign that said Disneyland LEFT. They started crying and turned around and went home. Two blondes living in Oklahoma were sitting on a bench talking, and one blonde says to the other, 'Which do you think is farther away... Florida or the moon?' The other blonde turns and says 'Helloooooo, can you see Florida?' A police officer stops a blonde for speeding and asks her very nicely if he could see her license. She replied in a huff, 'I wish you guys would get your act together. Just yesterday you take my license away, and now today you expect me to show it to you?' A gorgeous young redhead goes into the doctor's office and said that her body hurt wherever she touched it. 'Impossible!' says the doctor. 'Show me.' The redhead took her finger, pushed on her left shoulder and screamed, then she pushed her elbow and screamed even more. She pushed her knee and screamed; likewise she pushed her ankle and screamed. Everywhere she touched made her scream. The doctor said, 'You're not really a redhead, are you? ‘Well, no' she said, 'I'm actually a blonde.' 'I thought so,' the doctor said, 'Your finger is broken.' A girl was visiting her blonde friend, who had acquired two new dogs, and asked her what their names were. The blonde responded by saying that one was named Rolex and one was named Timex. Her friend said, 'Whoever heard of someone naming dogs like that?' 'Helllooooo. . . ,' answered the blonde. 'They're watch dogs.'

Thanks to Chuck Walker Two Canadian priests died at the same time and met Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter said, "I'd like to get you guys in now, but our computer's down. You will have to go back to Earth for about a week, but you can't go back as priests. What'll it be?" The first priest says, "I've always wanted to be an an eagle, soaring above the Rocky Mountains ." "So be it," says St. Peter, and off flies the first priest. The second priest mulls this over for a moment and asks, "Will any of this week 'count' St. Peter?" " No I told you the computer's down, There's no way we can keep track of what you are doing." In that case" says the second priest, I've always wanted to be a stud. "So be it" says St. Peter, and the second priest disappears. A week goes by, the computer is fixed, and the Lord tells St. Peter to recall the two priests. "Will you have any trouble locating them? he asks. "The first one should be easy," says St. Peter, "He's somewhere over the Rockies, flying with the eagles. But the second one could prove to be more difficult." “Why” asks the Lord "He's on a snow tire, somewhere in Saskatchewan "
