2001 cadmium, Cd cadmium, Cd I 1800 45 - 026 Low-Temperature Elemental-Direct-Reaction Route to II–VI Semi- conductor Nanocrystalline ZnSe and CdSe. The title compounds are synthesized hydrothermally from the elements in H 2 O (autoclave, 180 C, 24 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD, TEM, and Raman spectroscopy. A possible reaction mechanism is suggested. The preparation method is very simple and greatly decreases the direct reaction temperature of elemental Zn (Cd) and Se.
