GENERAL MANAGER'S NOTE

Dear Friends,People in the Pacific Northwest are deeply connected to a beautiful land – our mountains, the ocean, the sound, our gorgeous river valleys. When our land or resources are endangered, KBTC is especially proud to boost the signal on stories about local folks rolling up their sleeves and solving local problems.

Faced with worsening floods and a prized salmon population on the brink of extinction, communities along Washington’s Chehalis River must decide how to prepare for climate impacts and if a new dam is the answer. Chehalis: A Watershed Moment by Shane Anderson and Jesse Andrew Clark shows how diverse local communities like the Confederated Tribes of Chehalis, Quinault Indian Nation and Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife are working together to explore solutions that create a healthy and resilient river basin for both communities and the iconic wild salmon. KBTC is grateful for this kind of story-telling about our region and the imaginative problem-solving among Western Washington neighbors. Because while we love our rivers here, we also have to admire these bridges that are built to benefit our community.
