Competition InformationGreat News! Choose a Two Day Ticket Package and save up to 40% on general admission prices. Compete and enjoy two full days at California’s Great America on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8 for only $90 per competitor or $78 per supporter (Halloween Haunt not included). Single Day competitor tickets are also available for only $51 per competitor and Single Day Supporter tickets are available for only $39.00 per supporter. Interested in staying for Halloween Haunt?* Haunt upgrades are available for Saturday, October 7 for only $35 more per person. This year we are partnering with GET Sports, a youth travel company, who will be sending all tickets to you electronically. This competition is a USA Regional Competition. Qualifying high school spirit teams with an averaged score of 75 points or above will receive a bid to USA Spirit Nationals to be held in Anaheim, California February 23 – 25, 2018. Qualifying Jr. High/Middle School and Sports/Independent teams with an average score of 75 points or above will receive a bid to USA USA Junior Nationals to be held in southern California, February 25, 2018.

NEW This Year!Great America has now themed this Cheerleading event to match in with the park’s Halloween decor. Plan to compete for special awards, such as the Crazy Halloween Hair or the Scary Makeup Award!

Also New this year, teams that are not quite ready to compete but want to receive valuable feedback from the judges, can opt to do “Evaluation only” Just indicate this by marking the box on the Registration form.

Save! “Spirit Supporter” TicketsAll spectators are required to have a theme park ticket for admission to view the competition.

Each “ $39.00 Single Day Spirit Supporter” (spectator) is able to attend the event AND enjoy an entire day at California’s Great America AND add HAUNT for just $35.00 each ticket type. Coaches Get 1 Free Souvenir Photo!Kaman’s Art Shoppes will be at the 2017 USA Spooktacular Cheerleading Competition to take pictures of every team. One free color photo will be sent to the primary coach for each team photographed, courtesy of Kaman’s Art Shoppes. Order forms will be available at the event.

Performance AreaThe 2017 School and Sports/Independent Cheerleading and Song/Pom/Dance Competition will be held in the Redwood Amphitheater at California’s Great America. There will be no practicing on the performance floor prior to the competition. The stage size is 60' x 46'. A carpet bonded foam mat measuring 54' x 42' will be placed on the stage for all cheerleading performances. The mat may or may not be removed for the songleading/pom categories/divisions. Dance teams who compete in the Redwood Amphitheater should note that the stage is covered in concrete. Footwear must be worn and should appropriate to your technical level for this type of surface. All stunts and tumbling must be completed on the mat. At this competition, a warning will be given for any infraction of this rule. You will not receive a penalty if you step off of the mat.

Warm-Up AreaGreat America Pavilion — Warm-up facilities at this location are limited and may include grass area and/or carpet bonded foam mat pieces. Stunting and/or tumbling on cement areas are ground for disqualification.

Performance Order/ SchedulesTypically, performance order is based on the receipt of registrations. The first registration received will be the last to perform in that division and the last registration received will be the first to perform. Adjustments may be necessary due to division/team conflicts.

The “Person to Receive Correspondence” will be sent/emailed a tentative line up with performance times at least 10 days prior to the competition. These times are subject to change. The final schedule will be available by checking http://usa. varsity.com after 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Wednesday day prior to your competition. As of this day, performance times should remain the same regardless of scratches. It is the advisor’s responsibility to check the schedule for accuracy prior to the team taking the performance floor.

The “Person to Receive Correspondence” will be sent a second email directly Adventures America with the theme park’s admission tickets attached for the event.

Requests for category/division changes will be accommodated only if notice is submitted in writing 10 days prior to the affected event. Competition fees and spectator tickets are non-refundable. Competition fees for this event are non- transferable and may not be used for any other USA event.

InsuranceEach participant must have his/her own personal insurance, which must be documented on the USA/CGA Medical Release and Appearance Form. All competitors must submit the form in order to compete. Great America and/or the USA will not be responsible or held liable for any injuries occurring at these events.

First aid staff will be on site at all competitions to provide assistance for emergencies only. Taping of wrists/ankles for individual performers will not be provided, unless medically necessary to treat an injury.

Dressing RoomsDressing rooms will not be available. Restrooms will be available. California’s Great America and/or the USA will not be responsible for any lost or stolen articles.
