Acceptable Evidence of Knowledge 1. Guided Activity: Students will share with their classmates their prior knowledge of the rainforest. They will pair up and do a pair-share.

2. Practice: Students will practice the vocabulary by repeating the new words after being cued.

3. Guided Practice: Students will listen to a passage and then read silently and answer the questions

4. Guided Practice: Students will watch a video and answer questions.

5. Practice: Students will be able to construct the rainforest that they would like to visit.

6. Final: Students will complete 2 post it notes with sentences of 2 things they learned from the lesson.

Assessment/ Evidence I will use formative assessment tools; I will walk around and check for progress while the students are completing the activity. My closure is another form of evidence because I will require the students to put their names on the post-it note.

Closure As a closure the students will be given two post-it notes and they will be instructed to write down to things that they learned during the lesson. Ex: “El perezoso vive en centro america.”

Accommodations/ Support Staff I will be walking around and checking on the students and assisting when needed.

Resources • Sloth worksheet• Vocabulary flashcards• Projector for rainforest video • Paper to draw rainforest of choice

Time Required The lesson will take around 20 minutes to complete.

Reflection After the lesson I will check over the post-it notes and see what the students learned. If they did not retain the information I will make sure to review and reteach where needed.
