Set… Starting your session
Virtual interaction
-Encourage virtual participants to
interact:
>Use the question box to ask
questions or share comments.
>Follow us on Twitter with the
hashtag #_____.
>Access resources by selecting the
handouts link at the top.
>Provide feedback by selecting the
evaluation before leaving the event.
Notice
-Remind attendees that the session is
being recorded and will be available
for viewing online at the website.
Ready… Before your session
PPT Slides
-Use only to reinforce your points -Restrict text to no more than 5 bullet points per slide.
-Never read bullet points word-for-word; add more information, value and
elaborate to each bullet. -Where possible, use images to explain. -Avoid animation and complicated,
blurry graphs or charts. -Use san serif fonts (Arial, Tahoma);
slide title font size: 32-44 pts; body text no less than 20 pts. Clothing & Jewelry
-Solid colors are best.
-Avoid stark white, stripes, and tiny patterns. -Avoid large necklaces, bracelets,
watches, which can cause noise and can be picked up by the microphone.
Cellphones
-Be sure to place phones on mute.
Go! During your session
Keep it Conversational
-Consider including co-presenters in
your talk to project a relaxed discussion.
Responding to Questions
-Establish how to manage questions:
>Accept questions during the
presentation.
>Wait until the end of the presentation.
-Vetted questions and comments will be
provided through the confidence
monitor.
-Restate all questions to ensure onsite
and virtual participants have heard it.
-Polling is possible. Attendees onsite
can raise their hand; virtual attendees
can respond in the question window. Closing
-Advise: questions not answered during
the session will be answered later.
-The session will be available online.
