Get needed dental work or cleanings completed. Dental cover-age ends the last day of the month in which you are laid-off unless you elect to pay COBRA for dental coverage.

Make doctor appointments and get any medi-cal conditions treated ASAP.

COBRA for medical and dental coverage must be elected within 60 days of layoff date and paid within 45 days of electing coverage.

Federal law provides that laid-off employees and their dependents be offered a COBRA extension of group coverage at their own expense for up to 18 months.

Understand Options to Maximize Benefits

COBRA INFO - Keep in mind that COBRA rates will change every January 1. TotalAccess will also have the rates. Once you have elected COBRA, you will receive a monthly billing state-ment. After the six months contractual coverage you will begin to get monthly bills for COBRA. If you decide not to continue, simply do not pay the bill.

Members should get prescriptions filled immediately after receiving a WARN notice and consider switching to a mail-order program (which can provide up to a 90-day supply) since there may be a lag in activat-ing COBRA coverage. Please note: there are limitations on refills based on when your previous prescription was purchased.

Traditional Medical Plan (TMP) - Instructions for those in TMP:1. Contact your doctor to get a 90-day supply prescription (with refills) to be used through mail-order pharmacy. 2. Visit www.medco.com/boeing, print a mail-order form & attach your prescription or call 1-800-841-2797.

3. Send in completed mail-order form with your prescription to the address listed at the bottom of the form. 4. Once your prescription is in the Medco mail system, you can order future refills online or via automated phone line.

Selections - For those in Selections who want to use the mail order pre-scription program, visit www.medco.com/boeing or call 1-800-841-2797.1. Call your doctor and ask for a prescription to be used for mail order. 2. Visit the website to get a mail order form. 3. Mail in the necessary paperwork, including payment. 4. Receive up to 90-day supply by mail.

Advice for Filling Prescription Drugs

Call and schedule any needed dental work or cleanings immedi-ately after receiving a WARN notice. Dental coverage ends the last day of the month in which you are laid-off.

You may want to consider more economical health care options than COBRA. While the alternatives may not provide the same level of coverage, the cost is more manageable. You can check out Washing-ton Health by visiting: www.washingtonhealth.hca.wa.gov.

There is also a discounted prescription drug program available to all Washington residents. To learn more about that program, visit: www.rx.wa.gov/discountcard.html
