  • Initial Setup New PC

    Log onto New PC using the LOCAL TECH ACCOUNT.

    Set Tech password to never expire.

    Delete Answerfile folder.

    Install the correct version of Trend AV software.

    Install Survey. Reboot.

    Log onto PC using LOCAL TECH ACCOUNT.

    Insert Description Field (Last Name, First Name).

    Join the Domain using your account. Requires a Reboot.

    Email Computer Change Request.

    Log on as LOCAL TECH ACCOUNT.

    Turn On network Discovery and File Sharing

    Install correct video driver.

    If needed, install KEA (Add (x86) to the path) (Open KEA and answer yes to question about making KEA the default application).

    Install Adobe Acrobat software (open Acrobat and accept the agreement).

    Install Microsoft Office (Customize, run all from my computer)

    Install remaining software listed above.

    Insert software CDs inside tower.

    If fixed IP Address is needed, run ipconfig /all and do a print screen.

    Gather Data and Info from Old PC

    Check that My Documents has been moved to H: drive, if not move them.

    Check that email delivery is to the Mailbox, if not set it up and import PST.

    Check for proxy. Record existing IP address.

    Copy users NK2 file and Desktop, Favorites, Outlook Archive and Signatures folders.

    Copy any needed folders from the root of C:.

    If files are shared, move to department share on the J: drive

    Transfer to New PC

    Log on as User.

    Create a shortcut to users My Documents on the H: drive.

    Open Outlook and set it up (gvmail). Run NK2 import tool.

    Transfer users Desktop, Favorites, Outlook Archive and Signatures folders back to the user profile.

    Check and repoint any shortcuts on the desktop.

    Set up printers.

    Change Office Trust center to allow macros & set Trusted Locations to allow H: and J: drive.

    Change Office Default Save Location.

    Test software and Peripherals (Printers, scanners etc).

    Delete Tech Tools Directory.
