Heritage this year took place between August 18th and 20th. The weather was very cooperative and it helped it to be once again a successful and fun event. A new look to the car show to add a bit of variety, every car was in a "circle" pointed toward the center. It was nice to see the cars lined up in chronological order so you could see the changes made as the years past. Everyone's cars showed well in the sun with downtown Vancouver in the background. Some people brought picnics, while others took advantage of the proximity to the Lons-dale Quay, and had a bite there. We didn't make it to the dinner, but from what we heard on the Sunday, it was quite nice. Awards were handed out for the car show
event. Jerry Parkhill received the Mark Parkhill Award for 2006. Sunday morning came early for us. The rally went from North Vancouver to the Surrey Slalom Site. While 7 cars started out, only 6 made it to the end. Our MGB gave up a very short time into the rally. But determined to make it to the slalom, we parked our car, took a taxi to our house, then drove our Toyota Prius to the slalom site. 19 cars took part in the slalom, including our brand X.
Everyone seemed to have a great time. It was nice to see so many people participating. Rhonda had her hands busy with timing everyone. Once we all finished, it was time to head off for brunch and award presentations. The Excalibur puts on a good spread for the brunch, and we definitely had enough to eat. Al and John were busy tallying up the results, and the overall Jaguar winner was Art Dicken-son in his modified 1983 XJS Coupe. The MG overall win-ner was Norm Stanley in his 1977 MBG Roadster. British Jamboree at the Cloverdale Old Car Jamboree A request from the Langley Area Mostly British Motoring Club: This year the Cloverdale Jamboree charity car show is adding a British Jamboree to the line-up. We will be a feature of the event, not just an add-on to the American steel. We will have our own section to display our British finery and will also have British entertainment. I am trying to assist the organiz-ers in getting as many British vehicles as possible to wow the crowd. We are hoping for a minimum of 50. Pre-registration is a definite plus so we can gauge the space requirements. Help our club get as many of the British car community to participate as possible for this worthwhile event. As I said earlier, proceeds go to charity, plus, any time we can raise the British car profile, that is a good thing.

Here is an excerpt of the weekend events—submitted by Chris and Sandra Venning. Day one we picked up the group on the road to Sumas at 10:00 am. The border cross-ing was unusually busy for a Friday morning. After getting our weekend grog at the Duty Free we set off to Anacortes. The cool morning was turning into a sun drenched day and it was now time to put the top down. Under Graham's lead we followed like a row of sheep . We had a lovely lunch at the Blue Mountain Grill
on Hwy # 9; then it was off to Arlington through the back side of Sedro Woolley. During a rest
stop in Darrington we discovered a very small one room liquor store owned by an elderly lady who's daughter was selling homemade jams and jellies for pocket money for her trip to Scotland .We all left with a bag of wine and jelly. We arrived at our Motel The Mariner Inn in Anacortes at 6:30 pm. Everyone was

The 2006 Kruise for Kids occurred on Sunday, November 5. The rain held off for the majority of the time, and it was a pleasant day—from the meeting point at Guildford Mall to the end point of the drive at the Langley Community Centre. This event is made possible by the members of the Greater Vancouver Car Club Council. This year, our club was represented by Doug and Rhonda Gale, Doug and Carol Carr, Vito and Madelaine Do-natiello, Mike and Tonya Harford, Peter Tilbury and Joe Carroll. There were over $8000 in door
prizes given out. But that wasn’t the reason for attending. It is all about the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau and fundraising for it. Our club raised over $3000, a lot of which is owed to the huge efforts of Doug Gale. Overall, more than $12600 was raised this year, as well as several hundred toys of all sizes and
