Cost $14 at Wal Mart for one gallon. The generator will run without it, but this will help the engine to last longer and run cooler and quieter. Reason behind this: in 2007 when they switched to ultra-low sulfur diesel, they took all the sulfur out of the fuel which is the primary lubricant for diesel engines, everyone with an engine produced before 2007 then needed to put an additive in each fill up to prevent the new fuel from prematurely wearing out their engines. The Supertech 2-stroke oil is just a better and less expensive alternative to diesel fuel additives that are not on the shelves at gas stations.
