THE CAST

Haley Bado – (Ensemble) – This is Haley’s first High school musical.

She has been in many other productions, but this is one of her favorites. Haley says, “Hello world” to all her family and friends and wants to thank everyone who has helped her be in the production. She says this musical is “Totally awesome!” And you’ll love it as much as she does.

Rocki Boulis – (The Wiz) – So you wanted to meet the wizard?

Well Rocki Boulis is a junior here at CVHS and is a 3rd year veteran of CV's musicals and you can find her in the fall plays as well. Other musical performances include the Sour Kangaroo in ‘Seussical’ her freshman year and Rusty in last year’s production of ‘Footloose’. Working with extravagant directors Ms. Scalise and Mrs. Jenkins, as well as music instructor Mr. Zang, is such a memorable and valuable experience. Without them none of this would be possible. I’d also like to thank my family for their love, support, and words of encouragement because if they weren't there to push me to do what I love and become better every day, I’d never be able to learn the things I know now. Also, thank you to all my friends who have supported me since freshman year by coming to see any show I participate in. I love you guys!

Samantha Brunner – (Ensemble / Munchkin / Crow) – This is

Samantha's sixth show on the CV stage. Samantha is very excited to be a part of this year’s production of ‘The Wiz’. She would like to thank her directors Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr. Zang, and the cast and crew of The Wiz! Also, she would like to thank the lovely costume moms and a big thanks to her family and friends for supporting her. Love you guys!!

Sherri Brunner – (Ensemble / Mouse) – Sherri Brunner is a freshman

and is ecstatic to say ‘The Wiz’ is her first musical in high school! Sherri would like to thank everyone for their love and support, but most of all she would like to thank Abby Daum, Bridget Deely, and Sean Gracy for being the best seniors ever! Sherri plans to continue doing musicals throughout high school and hopes everyone enjoys Chartiers Valley’s production of ‘The Wiz’!

Gavin Calgaro – (Ensemble / Lord High Underling) – Gavin is

thrilled to performing in his first musical on the CV stage as the Lord High Underling! After spending two years on the Tech Crew, he decided to step out and experience the “other side” of the show. He is so thankful for the wonderful cast, who helped him every step of the way. He’d also like to thank his family, who supported his transition into the cast. You’re all stars in my book!

Mia Case – Senior – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Mia is a two-year

member of the Charvalettes and a one year member of the Dance Troupe. Mia has performed as a Golden Triangle Tamburitzan since the age of 5 and is also Co-President of Student Council. Mia is very excited to perform in ‘The Wiz’ and wishes to extend a “Thank You” to Mrs. Jenkins for all of her mentoring and guidance over the past 3 years!

Julia Cipriani – (Ensemble / Troupe / Crow / Mouse) – Julia is so

excited for her first high school performance. She currently dances at the Thomas Studio of Performing Arts and is on the Drill Team as well as Troupe. She has had an amazing time preparing ‘The Wiz’ and loves everyone in the production’s cast. She will miss all of the seniors and wishes them luck in college! Enjoy the show!

Christa Colavincenzo – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Christa

Colavincenzo is a sophomore and is a first year member of the Dance Troupe. Also, she is a second year member of the Majorettes. This is Christa’s first year participating in musical and she is very excited.

Cassidy Cooper – Senior – (Glinda) – After practically living in the

auditorium for the past four years, Cassidy is overwhelmed with excitement and sadness to be taking her 8th and final bow on the CV stage. She is eternally grateful for the wonderful people she met through the musical; they never fail to put a smile on her face and always brighten her day. She would like to thank Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr. Zang for the opportunity to play Glinda and for the past

four years; every day with them has been wonderful and she can never thank them enough for all they do. Also, thanks to her family for their support, her lovely “little sister” Ranae, and Megan Henderson, for being the greatest best friend she could ever ask for. And as always: I love you most.

Carly Coulibaly – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Carly is a 1st year

member of both drill team and troupe. She is a 2nd year member of NHS and the Social Committee. She is very excited to be in 1st musical production of ‘The Wiz’.

Ja-Nay Davis – (Yellow Brick Road) – Ja-Nay is super-duper excited

about being in ‘The Wiz’ this year! Along with a sweet pair of Heelys, she’s taking away tons of new friends and memories. When she’s not practicing the vocals to Emerald City, Ja-Nay’s busy getting down and cheesy with the Cheetle Gurlz. And lastly, it was in her best wishes that this would close with an inspirational quote overflowing with substance and significance. So here it goes: “ Shoot for the moon so even if you

Bridget Deely – Senior – (Yellow Brick Road / Messenger / Featured Ensemble) – ‘The Wiz’ is Bridget’s last performance of her

high school career. This four year Musical veteran is no stranger the CV stage, with performances in ‘The Wedding Singer’, featured as JoJo in ‘Seussical’, and cameo appearances as Betty Blast in ‘Footloose’, Bridget is ready to take her final bow as the Yellow Brick Road in this year’s production. She would like to thank her parents for their love and support, along with her directors, Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr. Zang, for an unforgettable experience. Over her high school career she has been captain of the tennis team, a proud member of the Interact Club, learned to Heely, won Homecoming Queen, and made so many wonderful friends. She’d like to make a special shout out to her brothers and sisters, and hopes everyone enjoys the show.*bows and exits stage right*

Kelly Evangelista – (Aunt Em / Gatekeeper) – Kelly is thrilled to

be taking on the roles of Aunt Em and the Royal Gatekeeper! Kelly is a junior and this is her third high school production. She would like to thank her family, especially her parents, for their love and support as well her friends for their nonstop support. Lastly, she would like to thank Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr. Zang for their tremendous work and help as well as giving her the opportunity to take on these

roles. She is so proud of the hard work everyone put in to make this such a successful production! To the seniors: ‘I will miss you all so much!’

Alexandra Goldstein – (Ensemble / Crow) – Alexandra, a junior, is

psyched to be singing, et cetera in ‘The Wiz’! Since seen as a Seussian Citizen and a suburban senior, Alexandra’s seven-or-so scriptures are the spotlight of her spring season! Alexandra is stirred up to simulate a super fan, a sloppy-suited free spirit, a suffering specimen, a singer in Chartreuse and some similar soubrettes! Special shout-out to the spectacular supervisors: Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr.Zang.

Similarly, she would like to send a salutation to all of her side-kicks and such, since they are simply super!

Sean Gracy – Senior – (Lion) – Sean Gracy is a senior this year

and this is his first time participating as a cast member in the Chartiers Valley musical. He is very proud to be a member of this production of ‘The Wiz’ and also to be working with the amazing cast, crew, and directors of the show. Some of Sean’s past experiences in musical theatre include working backstage for last year’s production of Footloose, working on and off stage for SPAS Productions, singing in the shower, and dancing around the house when no one else is home. He is also a 3 year member of CV’s Select Chorus. Sean would like to thank the whole cast and crew for making this a memorable experience, and he gives many thanks to all of his friends, Ms. Scalise, Dustin, Mrs. Jenkins, Mr. Zang, his mom, dad, Adam, Katelyn, and Rod for all the support. Finally Sean hopes you enjoy this amazing production of ‘The Wiz’!

Alina Gropelli – (Ensemble / Troupe / Winged Monkey) – Alina

is a second year member of Dance Troupe. She is very excited to be performing in her second musical.

Matthew Guerry – (Tinman) – This is Matthew’s third year

performing in the musical, and he couldn’t be happier to play the part of the Tinman. He would like to thank his friends and family for their support over the course of this production, and would also like to make a shout out to his directors! He hopes that this production will be warmly received by the masses, even without Wiz Khalifa making an appearance, despite what the title may imply.

Allyssa Guglielmo – Senior – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Allyssa is a

first year member of Dance Troupe and this is her first musical.

Desiree Hajnos – (Ensemble / Troupe Captain / Winged Monkey) – Desiree is a 3rd year member on troupe and in musical.

She is a 1st year captain of troupe. She is looking forward to putting on the production ‘The Wiz’, and hopes everybody has had as much fun as she has. She can't wait to see what next year brings!

Olivia Heckroth – (Ensemble) – Olivia is very excited to be part of

her first production on the Chartiers Valley stage. She would like to send a special thanks to her family, friends, and fellow cast members for supporting her throughout the preparation for this production. She would also like to thank Ms. Scalise, Mr. Zang, and Mrs. Jenkins for making this production possible.

Julia Henderson – Senior – (Ensemble / Troupe / Winged Monkey) – Julia is a 2nd year member of troupe, 3rd year member

of drill team, and one year captain of drill team. She is attending Pennsylvania State University to major in business management this fall. She is so excited to perform ‘The Wiz’ her senior year and wishes everyone the best of luck in the upcoming years!

Hannah Gordon – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Hannah is a 2 year Drill

Team member and 1 year Troupe member. ‘The Wiz’ is her second high-school musical and she is very excited for opening night.

Megan Henderson – (Dorothy) – This is Megan’s 4th High School

Performance and third consecutive year in the musical. Being cast as Dorothy has knocked her right off her sequined Ugg feet. She’s incredibly grateful and extremely excited to be a part of such an incredible show, and to have been blessed with such an amazing cast and crew. Megan would like to thank Kim Scalise, Cathy Jenkins, and Jason Zang for all of their hard work and dedication to the show. She’d also like to thank her family-especially her parents for being her biggest fans. Finally, Megan would like to thank her best friend Cassidy (Glinda) for being there, and telling her to talk to her feet. I love you more!

Lauren Joseph – (Ensemble / Troupe / Winged Monkey) –

Lauren is a member of Spanish Club, NHS, and president of her Church's youth group. She is also a 2 year member of Charvalettes and Dance Troupe. This is her second high school musical and she is extremely excited about performing in ‘The Wiz’. She can't wait to perform in the upcoming musicals and Showcases!

Katie Kearney – (Ensemble / Troupe) – ‘The Wiz’ is Katie's first

high school musical. She is a one year member of the dance troupe and a one year member of the charvalettes. Katie is very excited to perform and is looking forward to the next three years.

Maggie Ledrick – (Ensemble / Munchkin) – One day, little

Margaret was roaming the halls of Chartiers Valley High School searching for the quilting club meeting, when she heard harmonious voices coming from the auditorium. Ever since, she’s been involved in Chartiers Valley performing arts and loved every minute of it. This is Maggie’s 3rd production on the CVHS stage, after ‘Footloose’ and ‘A Christmas Carol’. She’d like to take this chance to give a big thanks to

the entire cast and our three wonderful directors for making this the most fun production she’s ever been a part of. Love you all!

Jessica Mannering – (Ensemble / Munchkin / Crow / Troupe) – Jessica otherwise known as Ssej, is thrilled to be a part of

‘The Wiz’. This is her third production with Chartiers Valley High School and she refers to it as her second home. She enjoys not only singing, but dancing as well. She would like to thank her friends, family, and wonderful boyfriend for always believing in her. She would also like to extend another huge thank you to Mrs.Jenkins, Ms.Scalise, and Mr.Zang for helping the cast put on such an amazing show. Getcha Crow On! Peace, Love, and Enjoy the journey to the magical land of Oz :)

Patrick McCollum – (Uncle Henry / Ensemble) – This is Patrick’s

3rd performance on the CV stage. He appeared as Jewish Boy #4 in ‘The Wedding Singer’ alongside his brother Kian. He also appeared as Rodney in the MS production of ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’. Patrick is very excited to follow in his brother’s footsteps in CV’s fall plays and musicals for many years to come. He would like to thank his family & friends for support and Ms. Scalise & Mrs. Jenkins for the wonderful guidance and

toleration for 3 long months.

Mitchell McDermott – (Scarecrow) – Although this is his first

performance as a high-school student, Mitchell is no stranger to the Chartiers Valley stage. He performed in all three middle school musicals, appeared in the high school production ‘The Wedding Singe’ in 6th grade as young Jewish boy #3, performed in Exhalations as an 8th grader, and was in this year’s fall play ‘A Christmas Carol’. In addition, he regularly attends Pittsburgh Musical Theater classes and has performed in one of their shows, ‘Children of Eden’. He is extremely grateful for the role he was given for ‘The Wiz’ and would like to thank Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr. Zang for giving him this opportunity and for the amazing cast and crew for all of their hard work.

Ranae McIntyre – (Addaperle) – Ranae is thrilled to be performing

as Addaperle in her very first musical on the high school stage. She has previously performed in all three middle school musicals, and she attends weekly classes at Pittsburgh Musical Theatre. She is thankful to her Mom, Dad, and brother Andrew for their unfailing support, and she is also thankful for her amazing friends., especially her "big sister" Cassidy. Finally, she would like to thank Ms. Scalise and Mrs. Jenkins for

giving her this opportunity and for their wonderful guidance and instruction.

Emily Meyer – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Emily Meyer is a

freshman, a one year member of Charvalettes, and a one year member of troupe. She is excited to be performing in her first high school musical. She hopes that everyone enjoys the show.

Lydia Nelson – (Ensemble) – Hello world!! :) Lydia would first like to

start off by thanking her family, friends, cast members and directors for supporting her through ‘The Wiz’. This is Lydia's 6th musical production she has been in, and can't wait for next year’s! ~ $Munchkin Swag$

Angela Pannitti – (Ensemble) – ‘The Wiz’ is Angela's first CVHS

musical. She was in all of the middle school musicals playing roles such as Louisa in the ‘Sound of Music’ and Mrs. Meers in ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’. Angela has also been attending The Center for Theater Arts since she was 9. Some of her favorite roles there have been Tracy in ‘Hairspray’ and the Wicked Witch in ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Angela would like to thank Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins , and Mr. Zang for all of their hard work, and the rest of the cast for being such helpful and really, really ridiculously good looking people.

Leanna Pietracatello – (Yellow Brick Road) – Leanna Pietracatello

has been participating in CV musicals since 6th grade. The musicals she has participated in include ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’, ‘Aida’ and this year ‘The Wiz’. Leanna would like to thank her family and friends for encouraging her to reach for her dreams. She’d also like to say hi to her mom, dad, grandma, Allison, Vanessa, Renea, Celine, Bre, Katie F and all her family and friends. "I love you guys!"

Julia Runco – Senior – (Ensemble / Troupe Caption) – Julia is a

three year member of Dance Troupe and one year captain as well as a three year member of Drill Team and one year captain. She is thrilled to be performing in her third and last musical ‘The Wiz’ and would like to thank her family, friends, and dance teachers for all of their love and support throughout the years. Julia will be attending the University of Pittsburgh this fall.

Liz Suppo – (Ensemble) – Liz would like to start off saying "Thank you

World!" and to thank her family and friends for being so supportive and helping her along the way. This is Liz's 1st musical. Normally, the music in her life is playing the violin in the High School Orchestra. She hopes to continue performing in the musicals for the rest of high school.

Morgan Torchia – (Ensemble) – Hello world! This is Morgan's first

High School musical production and she is so happy to be a part of the wiz. She was also in two of the MS productions and does theater outside of school. Morgan grew up watching ‘The Wiz’ and is so excited to be in the musical. So enjoy the show, ya'll got it?

Sabrina Volpe – Senior – (Evillene) –This is Sabrina’s last

performance on the CVHS stage. She is overjoyed that she can finally showcase her skills as a witch and would like to send many thanks to Ms. Scalise, Mrs. Jenkins, and Mr. Zang for placing her in a suiting role. Sabrina doesn’t know where she will be going to college yet but she hopes to major in economics and international relations. She hopes theatre will always be a part of her life as it always has been. She just

also hopes that down the road no one brings her “No Bad News”. (P.S. Thank you mom and dad and Kelly and family for being really supportive of me.) Oh and Gavin, “On your knees when you speak to me”.

Dee Warne – (Yellow Brick Road) - Dee is very excited to perform

in her 3rd musical on the CVHS stage! When she isn't busy with rehearsal, Dee likes to spend her time playing the ukulele, painting, riding her unicycle and participating in civil war reenactments. She has loved being a part of this production, and using her awesome heely-ing abilities as a member of the yellow brick road.

Erica Wilkerson – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Erica is a 4- year

letterman for Varsity Lacrosse and represented Western Pennsylvania on the Women’s US Lacrosse National Team and received the 2011 US Lacrosse All- American All-Academic Award. She has played for the Intrepid Club Lacrosse Team for 3- years. Erica is a 2- year member of the drill team and has been the high school boys’ basketball manager for two years. This is her first year of troupe. She also is a member of

National Honors Society as well as many other clubs. Erica plans on attending a school to study pre-dental. This is going to be her first musical and is very excited about it.

Brittany Windsheimer – (Ensemble) - This is Brittany

Windsheimer first year in the high school musical. She has been in the middle school musical and love every part of it. She is looking forward to next year.

Katelyn Zawilla – (Ensemble / Troupe) – Katey is in her junior year

at CV. She has danced on the CV stage the past 2 years in Showcase, but this is her first spring musical. She is a 2-year member of the Drill Team, 1-year member of Dance Troupe, and 2-year member of the National Honor Society. Other activities that Katey is involved in are Student Council, Spanish Club, Renaissance Club, and Social Committee. She still has another year at CV, but future plans include attending college and

majoring in orthodontics.

THE CREW

Abby Daum – Senior – (Stage Manager) – Abby Daum is a third year Stage Manager of the Musical. She was seen backstage during ‘Seussical’, ‘Footloose’ and ‘The Wiz’. Theater has been Abby’s favorite part of her high school experience and she will cherish the friends she made forever. She is attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania next year for a degree in Math Education. She sends a special shout out to her Mom and brother, Alex for always being there for her, Sarah

McGough for being the best co-stage manager ever, and Connor Fleck and Rachel Finney for being her best friends in the whole wide world.

Tom Kovach – (Carpenter) – Tom is a 2 year member of stage crew. He also helps with building crew and lighting crew. When he's not in the performing arts department he is playing football, soccer, bowling, or rocking with the marching band.

Austin Pilz – (Master Electrician / Special Effect Coordinator) – For the past three years I've been lighting shows, fogging up the stage, blowing off pyrotechnics, and of course, glowtaping every possible available surface. This show has been such an experience and I'll remember it forever. We call the director mom because we all see her more than our actual moms :)

Sarah McGough – Senior – (Stage Manager) – Sarah is a four year member of stage crew and three as a Stage Manager. Everyone she has meet threw her shows on the CV stage has become like family to her.
