Charlie Abney, 66, of Winnie, died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Riceland Medical Center, Winnie. He was born to Pauline Claire Dupuis and Joseph Bevil Abney, on March 28, 1952, in New York, New York. Charlie enjoyed music, cars, being outside, reading and helping others. He was everyone’s Mr. Fix It. Charlie also collected paper weights.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Abney, of Winnie; sons, Jared Charles Abney and his wife, Ashley, of Lumberton; Cody Daniel Abney, of Austin; daughters, Melissa Collins and her husband, Gerald; Angela Lund and her husband, Howie; and Julie Murphy, all of Winnie;

grandchildren, Kylee and Madison Abney; Coby and Slade Collins; Anthony Lund; Ashlyn Murphy; Christopher Thomas-Leday; great-grandchildren, Jake, Ava, and Peighton Collins; mother, Pauline Abney, of Port Arthur; brother, George Abney and his wife, Kathy, of Spotsylvania, Virginia; sister, Susan Dengler and her husband, Jeffrey, of Port Neches; niece, Erin Abney; nephew, Jeffrey Dengler, Jr.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Abney and grandson, Kane Lund.
