67 Students Participated in the 2010-2011 SummerStage ProgramEach summer, the Charleston Stage Education Staff and Resident Acting Company hold SummerStage, a three week acting camp that culminates into a full-scale musical production at the Historic Dock Street Theatre for students grades 2-12.

Charleston Stage produces eight fully staged professional productions each season ranging from blockbuster Broadway musicals and classic dramas, to cutting edge comedies and theatre-for-youth productions. 10,000 Students From 8 Counties Attended School Matinees in 2010-2011Teachers enjoy using Charleston Stage performances to enhance their classroom work. For many students, this is the only opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre all year.

Outreach Workshops Reach Students in Public and Private SchoolsCharleston Stage Resident Professional Actors bring live theatre to area schools through special outreach workshops each season. Using hands-on theatre techniques, they teach academic subjects, enhance lesson plans and enrich the classroom.

More Than 300 Students have Served as TheatreWings ApprenticesThe Charleston Stage TheatreWings High School Apprentice Program is an intensive, pre-professional technical theatre training program open to more than 35 high schoolstudents a year. Free of charge, apprentices learn directly from professionals about acting, set design and construction, props, costumes, stage management, lighting, sound and special effects.

627 Total Students Participated in Our TheatreSchool Programs in 2010-2011Charleston Stage TheatreSchool offers classes year round for students from kindergarten through high school at our Mount Pleasant Studio. Classes are led by members of the Charleston Stage Resident Professional Acting Company. Classes range from beginner classes, performance workshops and year-round performance troupes.
