OUR GRAND KNIGHT’S REPORT
My Brother Knights,
I hope everyone had a blessed and wonderful Christmas Season. As we approach the New Year, Joan and I wish you and your family a Happy, Happy New Year. We are now entering the second half of our fraternal year. It seems as though the first half has flown by. We have, however, accomplished many Charitable and Council programs that make us proud. Remember we will not have a Council meeting in January due to the fact that our meeting falls on a holiday. A vote by the Council cancelled the meeting. We will, however, have a 1st degree exemplification on December 8th. Please attend that 1st degree and support our new brothers. Our annual Christmas party on December 7 was huge success. Santa and the Elf went back to the North Pole but will return next year. John and Carol Luse, and Joann Cordell did an outstanding job providing us a great party. A big thank you goes to all our brothers who setup the gym and to those who served the food. Also thank you to Diana Falcone for her work on the center pieces. We raised $500.00 for our Coats for 4 Kids program.
On Friday December 12th our Council was honored by the Kids at St. Michael School. The cookies and hot chocolate was great. Brother Matt McGuire read a Christmas story to the kids. Thanks, Matt. Our second Annual American Red Cross Blood Drive will be on Sunday January 18 starting at 7:00 AM. If you are able please stop and give the gift of life. Jim Adee, Tim McGraw, Bob Leewe and I will
be attending the Midwinter Grand Knight Meeting in Columbia on January 31, 2015. The Polish Dinner Dance is planned and is scheduled for Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 PM. Make sure you get your reservations in early. Dinner will include Kielbasa, Golabki, Pierogi, Sauerkraut, dessert and beverages. Entertainment will be provided by Steve and Alyce. Reservations must be in no later than January 30, 2015. We will have a great time. I want to thank brothers Ken Hein, Ed Petras, Joe Wanovich Mike Butryn, Tom Coughlin, Bob Leewe, John Clark, Fr. Johnbosco and Fr. Ed Fitzgerald for their effort in putting up the Rectory Christmas lighting. Fr. Johnbosco was our man in charge. Please remember to pray for all our brothers and family members who are sick and in distress. . Vivat Jesus

Congratulations to: Knight of the Month – December 2014 –is: (Ken Pankowski) Our December Knight of the Month has
been a Knight for only 3 years. He attends every Council meeting and he never says no when asked to assist with a Knight project. Most recently, he handled the November Membership Church Drive and spoke at all six Masses. This effort led to positive results. He spoke with compassion, commitment and sincerity. He has filled in as inside Guard at the Grand Knight request and is scheduled to head up the Council unity Mass. His famous quote is (This is who we are and what we do) The Knight of the month is Brother Ken Pankowski.

Annual Council Christmas Party Our Annual Christmas dinner party was a great success. There were approximately 130 Knights and guest who attended. JoAnn and Vivian, from the kitchen did a fabulous job fixing turkey, ham and all the rest, everyone really enjoyed the meal. Steve and Alice’s music was a nice accompaniment to our dinner and the 12 Days of Christmas sing-along was fun for all. Thanks to my wife Carol, Diana Falcone and Peg Kopp for making the table centerpieces and to Sandy Hein who donated some of those decorations. Also everyone who volunteered to set up, service, bartend, and Father John Bosco and Santa, without everyone’s help this dinner would not be a success. The gifts for Catholic Charities and the Felician Sisters will help make Christmas for many children. And the donations received for Coats for kids will keep many warm. God Bless, John Luse PGK-PFN
