First Character: Benedict Black (The Antagonist)Acted by Kev

This character is the antagonist. He is a dark, evil and twisted character who has had troubles all his life. He is a very socially awkward character who was bullied at his school and despite the fact he is a lot older now, he has always wanted something or someone to blame. This person who he blames for the bullying will be our other main character, Sam Cooke.

Benedict Black's family life and social life will be unknown to the audience and many questions in general about him as a person will be left unanswered. This will have a good effect on the audience as his identity will remain more hidden, which is typical of the thriller genre. Benedict Black will be wearing a suit with a trench coat in our opening title sequence. The suit is used to resemble his intellect and the trench coat has a detective style so it will add mystery to his character.

In our opening title sequence you will mainly just see his hands. This will also hide his identity and as well as that because the only party of his body you are seeing are his hands it makes you think of him as a very creative, meticulous planner. His organisation will also be shown when he is the main culprit for a kidnapping which will be shown in flashbacks in our opening title sequence.

Second Character: Sam cooke (The Protagonist)Acted by Josh

This character is the protagonist. He is a friendly successful family man who has a nice life at the moment. But he used to be different before. When he was at school he was a bully and he bullied people like our antagonist, Benedict Black. He will now have to face the consequences of Benedict Black’s revenge.

Sam Cooke has a good job and a nice, big house with his wife and family. He has life good at the moment and he has a different attitude to how he used to be because now he is a genuine, friendly guy. He will be dressed in normal, average clothes such as a jeans and shirt. This will represent a very normal person which represents the typical thriller protagonist.

You will not see Sam Cooke that much in our opening title sequence because it is based mainly around Benedict Black. However, in the flashbacks you will see that Sam Cooke is the person who gets kidnapped. You know this because when there is an extreme close up of someone in a yearbook that Benedict Black is looking at, you see it is Sam Cooke and then it is the same person who is kidnapped. Towards the end of the opening title sequence Sam Cooke will also then be shown, tied up at the back of the room because we come back from the flashback to reality. This will create a very dramatic effect.
