Characterisation in The Tempest

Caliban- Caliban is one of the main characters in The Tempest. He is one of the enemies of Prospero. He is a savage,half-demon,half-brute. Caliban is also the son of the witch Sycorax. He taught Prospero how to survive on the island,while Prospero and Miranda taught Caliban religion and their own language. Following the attempted rape of Miranda,he had been compelled by Prospero to serve as the sorcerer's slave,carrying wood and gathering berries.

Prospero-Prospero is one of the main characters.He is a magician and was the former Duke of Milan. He and his daughter,Miranda,have been stranded for twelve years on an island after Prospero's jealous brother Antonio-helped by Alsonso,the King of Naples-deposed him and set him adrift with the then three-year-old Miranda. Gonzalo,the King's counsellor,had secretly supplied their boat with plenty of food,water,clothes and the most-prized books from Prospero's library.

Ariel-Ariel is one of the main characters.It is an airy spirit whom Prospero had rescued from a tree in which it had been trapped by the Algerian witch Sycorax. Prospero maintains Ariel's loyalty by repeatedly promising to release the “airy spirit” from servitude.

Miranda-Miranda is the daughter of Prospero.Parent Comment- There should have been more way more words and it wasn't close to 200 words per character and there weren't any pictures, but there was good descriptions and good use of adjectives. Also there was a lot of information and fluent language. Overall it was ok.

You need to write a greater number of words. It is important that you have a strong understanding of characterisation. Your sentence structure is pleasing.
