Objective, definition

and justification of

the indicator

To collect public opinión regarding the general aspects and the evolution of Global Change. The objective is to know society’s views as an aspect that influences attitudes and behaviours, and thus over the transition towards societies of sustainable development.

Measurement

parameters

This indicator is based on the responses collected in a survey of park visitors to the questions specified below in this file, and on the number of participants in the survey.

Calculation formula

For all the analyzed aspects, the result will be the arithmetic mean of the values indicated by the interviewees, except in the last one that represents the % of affirmative answer. The number of participants is a direct data.

Unit of measurement Average score on a scale of 1 to 5, except for the last question based on the % positive response to it. Number of participants.

Based on the sociological and economic profile of the interviewee (sex, age, studies ...), as well as the time series and trends of this indicator.

the indicator

It includes the formative and training activities about Global Change with the goal of following-up these kinds of initiatives to prepare society for the mitigation and adaptation to Global Change. It includes both the actions directed to the training of the protected area’s personnel, as well as those of the local authorities, AISE population or the public in general.
