Char Dham Yatra - Glimpses of the Holy Land

If you are seeking solace and a meeting with the maker of worldly creation then you are just

on the right path when you opt for Char DhamYatra.

The yatra will take you to four corners of India. You will get to see places which you have not ever dreamt of. Here is waiting an experience which will give you an insight into real India. You will interact and enjoy the experience of meeting Indians face to face on their native soil. The trip is away from the modern everyday life which pushes one down into morose depths of depression.

The Char Dham Yatra was initiated by Adi Shankaracharya of Hindu religion. Badrinath Temple is in north India and Puri is in the eastern part of the country. Rameshwaram is in South and Dwarkadheesh is in the west. Three sites are devoted to Lord Vishnu and one to

Lord Shiva.

The Char dham yatra brings you nearer to mythology. All the religious tales seem

to be true when you stand near the source of River Ganga at Gaumukh. The river flows down the high mountains and gets known by different names. It flows past Badrikashram by the name of Alaknanda.

Goddess Laxmi seems to have turned into a tree containing berries for her Lord who wanted to do penance at this place. Lord can be seen sitting in a meditative posture.

At Rameshwaram one Lord is worshipping the other. Lord Rama performed puja of Shivalinga before crossing the waters to bring back his wife Sita from the country of Ravana. The linga is one out of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The Linga is worshipped by the sea

waters during the high tides. It is believed that those going to Kashi the Moksha Pradayni City cannot attain salvation until they visit Rameshwaram.

Temple of Dwarkadheesh is dedicated to Lord Krishna an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Temples of Krishna’s various wives can be visited around this place. Submerged City of Dwarka is not very far from the temple complex. The whole area comes alive with sound of conches and nagaras during celebrations of Janamashtmi, birthday of Lord Krishna.

However, the Char Dham located in the all four corners of the country, namely Dwarkadheesh, Rameshwaram, Puri and badrinath should not be confused with the Chota Char Dham located in the Garhwal Himalayas. The four holy abodes of Garhwal Himalayas are comprised of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The initial two Dhams are dedicated to river goddesses Yamuna and Ganga while Kedarnath and Badrinath are devoted to lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

For the current year 2013, Yatra of Chota Char Dham would commence from 13th May. Join the troupe of pilgrim voyage proceeding for Char Dahm yatra in Garhwal Himalayas to experience most satisfying journey of lifetime.
