Before you listen1) Prelistening Questions:1.The supermarket in the picture has
an “express line”. What do You think this means?
2.There is an older couple at the front of the line. What are they buying? What mistake do they make?

2) Vocabulary Preview Groceries: food in packets, tins or bottles. Pound: a standard measure of weight
(1pound=o.45kilograms) Produce: things that have been produced. Aisle: a passage between rows of seats or
shelves. Gallon: a unit of measure for liquids
(1gallon=3.5litres) In line: to queue as a line waiting for
something. Take checks: to take CHEQUE.

combined to make a particular dish.
Serve : to work for somebody. Beat : to hit something or somebody
repeatedly. Melt : to become or make something
liquid through heating. Dip : to put or lower something into
a liquid. Fry : to cook something in very hot
fat or oil.

2) Taking Notes on a Recipe
Ingredient: two eggs, one cup of milk, one-half tea spoon of salt, a table spoon of butter.
Steps: 1. Beat the eggs, milk, and salt with a folk until they’re well mixed.2. Melt the butter in a frying pan.3. Dip eight slices of bread in to the
egg mixture.4. Fry the bread until they’re golden
brown.5. Serve them on a warm plate with
butter and syrup or jam.

3) Sharing Recipes.Fried water convolvulus• Ingredients (for 5 people) : 3 grams of
pork, one half tea spoon of salt, one tea spoon of sugar, one tea spoon of fish sauce, leak, oil.
• How to make it: First, when the oil’s hot, put the garlic in the pan until it’s golden brown. Then, put the pork until they’re well cooked. After that, put the salt, sugar, fish sauce until they’re mixed. Finally, put the water convolvulus and wait for about 2 minutes. Now, it’s already for you.
