Objectives – To write linear equations using slope-intercept form. To graph linear equations in slope-intercept form.

Chapter 5.5

Objective – To graph linear equations using intercepts. To write linear equations in standard form.

Chapter 5.6

Common Core - G.GPE.5 Prove the slope criteria for parallel and perpendicular lines and use them to solve geometric problems.

Objectives – To determine whether lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither. To write equations of parallel lines and perpendicular lines.

Chapter 5.7

Common Core – S.ID.6.c, N.Q.1, F.LE.5, S.ID.6.a, S.ID.7, S.ID.8, & S.ID.9 Fit a linear function for a scatter plot that suggests a linear association.

Objectives – To write an equation of a trend line and of a line of best fit. To use a trend line and a line of best fit to make predictions.

Chapter 5.8

Common Core – F.BF.3 & F.IF.7.b Identify the effect on the graph of replacing f(x) by f(x) + k, k f(x), f(kx), and f(x + k) for specific values of k; find the value of k given the graphs.

Objectives – To graph an absolute value function. To translate the graph of an absolute value function.
