Why God became flesh?

1. To save us from our sins and reconcile us to God. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life”- Jn. 3:162. To show the depths of His love for us. “In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent His only Son into the world so that we might have life through him”- 1Jn 4:93. To give us a model of holiness for us to imitate. “This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.”-Jn. 15:124. To give us a share in His own divine life by making us His children. “He has bestowed on us the precious and very great promises, so that through them you may come to share in the divine nature.” -2 Pt.1:4

The Annunciation, Luke 1:26-38

• “Hail, favored one” or “Hail, full of grace”—• -never before used in scripture• What is the relationship of “full of grace” to the doctrine of the Immaculate
