Chapter 2 Burden

...Cell phone ringing...

“Hello, Jack Here,”

“Oh hi There This is Pastor Terry, Our previous song leader has backslide looks like your covering for him so will you be ready this Wednesday?...hello? Jack you still There?”

Jack was silent for awhile anddrop his phone while making adumb expression that has “Ohno, this again” written all overit.

Then after awhile (being frozen in trauma of publicly humiliating himself due to pathetic song leading) Jack snap his fingers and suddenly remembered...

“Jack that was great, you'll get used to it, let do are best in the evening service.” Anri said to him once

suddenly jack's expression changed from a frozen traumatize face to a weird creepy smile (this guy is so low)

“I'll be looking forward for this Wednesday... My Pianist ...”

...Wednesday came...

Jack was one hour early to church and apparently he was the only one there...

“If I'm gonna Impress miss Anri Brand... I mean Evans, I need to practice my song leading technique, its a good thing I thought of something at work...”

Jack picked up a song book and started flipping pages...

“Hmm 6/8? ah, these little thingy dictates my hand signature thing...” Jack said with much confidence as if he knows what he's doing [yes, being sarcastic here]

“OH! 6/8 an octopus has eight tentacles... I'll call this one the raging octopus”

Jack waved his arms like a Octopus’s tentacles {he's just embarrassing himself, its a good thing nobody's there} Then he flipped the song book again.

“2\2 hmm, A Dog has two legs on the front and two at the back oh, I know this one its like a dog that is swimming, I'll call this one the the doggy paddle... I think that's enough for today hehe this is enough to impress Anri...”

Jack spent 40 minutes practising those silly pose.... what a waste of time...

“A- anri hey there!”

“Oh hi Jack”

“So you’re the pianist tonight...” said jack with a smug on his face

“Oh, tonight's not my schedule itsMrs. Brenda's turn....”

Jack expression suddenly changed....

As Jack and Anri was talking they heardan old woman's voice calling out Jack “Oi Jack!” it was Mrs. Brenda.

“Ei, your that strange song leader right?Hehe just kidding boy, do your best... try to keep up with my piano skills.”said Mrs. Brenda...

“So that’s Mrs. Brenda.”

“yeah, she could get a bit prideful sometimes”“Oh Its starting, sorry Anri just gonna get ready”

As Jack walks up to the pulpit ready to lead the first song.... He

suddenly froze for a minute or 2 and his eyes begin to widen

“hey I...I can't move...what is this?..” Jack said to himself

Then as he stood there frozen he began to see everything in front of him, a couple talking, a guy on his smart phone... people distracted from worshipping God and as he see this people distracted he bowedhis head and clench his teeth in anger...

“Why are the people like this.... am I suppose to lead them? I'm NOTresponsible for them... I'm just a substitute guy... but why... do I feel this way... Maybe this is what they call... a burden.”

As the preaching was over and it was time for prayer jack came to Ptr. Terry...“hey pastor do you have any prayer partner yet?”

“You want to talk son? Tell me about it... take a sit..”

“Pastor, while i was standing there... I can't describe it but I have never felt it before...”

“Hmm...”

“Should I be responsible for this people when they don't worship! I..I'm just a substitute guy... but why I do I feel responsible for them!”

“Jack...There is a personal aspect that a man is responsible in his worship. BUT there is an aspect that the song leader is responsible if the people is not worshipping God in song, he is a leader after all God will held him accountable... Jack I believe you becoming the song leader is no accident, but you still have a choice to this will youaccept this duty from God?

Jack eyes widen and clenched his teeth and looked straight to Ptr. Terry's eyes and with all his determination said.

“Pastor! I want to be the Best Song Leader that I could be!”

“Jack remember a song leader is not one who merely leads songs he is also a spiritual leader. ARE YOU READY TO BEAR THE WEIGHT OF PEOPLE'S SOULS IN YOUR SHOULDER!”

“YES PASTOR!”

“Then Get ready... Bible conference is coming this will be your testing grounds” ...To Be Continued...
