shape.

Each kidney weighs 4

to 6 ounces and is about

the size of a fist

In most people the left

kidney is slightly higher

than the right

KIDNEY FUNCTION

The kidneys have several

functions which include

Removal of waste products

And removal of water from the

blood

KIDNEY FUNCTION

Every day, a person's kidneys

process about 200 quarts of

blood to sift out about 2 quarts

of waste products and extra

water. The wastes and extra

water become urine, which flows

to the bladder through tubes

called ureters. The bladder

stores urine until releasing it

through urination

An unhealthy kidney

leads to kidney failure

If the kidneys were to

fail. Waste, poisons and

other toxins would fill up

in the blood stream.

THE KIDNEYS ARE VERY IMPORTANT

Eat healthy

to avoid other

diseases that

can lead to

kidney failure.
