How does Troy react to Al’s presence?
He hates having Al there.
Troy begins to undermine Al’s leadership by telling others they don’t need him.

Al guides the boat safely through the rapid.

The group plans to go ashore. When they arrive, they see park rangers and a policeman and realize Al has arranged to have them picked up.
