• Interaction between Abbasids & Turks:– Abbasids bought Turkish children to become
slaves, military soldiers, & bodyguards.• The Persians were in power (945 A.D.) of the
Abbasids at this time.
– Eventually, Turkish mamelukes, grew powerful enough to take over the Abbasid Empire.• Mamelukes were military slaves.
