He will speak briely to all 6th class pupils and invite them and their parents to the Open Night. Open Night takes place in St. Nessan’s Community College. November Transfer Programme begins with 6th Class facilitated by School Completion Programme.  January Application forms for St. Nessan’s Community College to be submitted by early J anuary. February Offer of places posted. Acceptance/non-acceptance forms returned to St. Nessan’s Community College. Registration Night takes place in St. Nessan’s Community College - all parents must attend to assure their childs place. March Entrance Assessments for all sixth class students enrolled in St. Nessan’s Community College May Closing date for payment of €90 Book Rental for 1st Year.  August Induction Programme for all irst years attending St. Nessan’s Community College.  September Coffee/Information morning for parents in HSCL Parents room. Department of Education Enrolment Form (White Form)  Medical Card Number  Student PPS Number 3. Code of Behaviou r Form (Yellow Form)  It is vital that students & parents read, understand and agree on the code of  behaviour before signing the yellow form. 4. Attendance Punctuality Form (White Form)  It is a condition of accepting and keeping a place in St. Nessan’s Community College that the Attendance/Punctuality Policy is agreed to and signed. 5. Book Rental Contract (Pink Form) 6. Pupil Personal Accident Insurance Form (Green Form) 7. Student Levy Form (Green Form) A pack containing all forms listed below will be sent to your home before Registration Night.  These documents must be read and signed and brought back to the school on Registration Night. The student levy covers the cost of your childs locker , journal, exams, photocopying and involvement in extra curricular activities. You are required to pay: €80 for one child €130 for two children €170 for three or more children Levy can be paid in installations from February to September.     Junior Cycle

    This period of time covers the irst three years of

    post-primary school. In 3rd year, students

    sit the Junior Certiicate Examination

    in the irst week in June.

    Junior Certiicate Schools Programme

    On completion of the JCSP programme students

    receive a proile which is an oficial record

    of their achievements from the

    Department of Education and Science.

    Transition Year

    Transition Year - Fourth Year. Pupils have the

    chance to sample many different subjects, to do

    voluntary work and gain work experience.

    Senior Cycle

    This period of time covers the time pupils spend

    in school after the Junior Certiicate. In 6th year,

    students sit the Leaving Certiicate

    Examination in the irst week in June.

    L.C.A

    This is the Leaving Certiicate Applied, an

    alternative too the regular Leaving Certiicate.

    Pupils spend 2 years studying the course and at

    the end of 2 years, they sit the Leaving Certiicate

    Applied Examination.

    L.C.V.P

    Leaving Certiicate Vocational Programme -

    an extra module for the Leaving Certiicate,

    including a project and work experience.

    Pupils can gain up to 70 points and many pupils

    take it as an extra subject.

    The set of courses that a pupil has to study for the

    Junior Certiicate & leaving Certiicate Exams.
