Change Track 101 | Find Life Welcome! You’re on track to experience life change for a lifetime. How do you Find Life? By learning about your New Life and New Home. Did you know it is possible to have a strong foundation and a wrong foundation? John 10:10 (NIV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jesus is making a distinction between existing and living. Just because someone is existing doesn’t mean that they’re living. Are you experiencing life the way God intended for you to live that is described in John 10:10?

The reality of life is that there are only three ways to live and that is sinking, surviving, or thriving. Jesus saves us from a life of sinking and surviving so that we can experience a new life with the potential and power to thrive. We believe experiencing a thriving life requires that we represent Jesus by living with four key essentials:

1. ____________________ - Goodness is God’s nature, gratitude is our response. We are a people that are unashamedly passionate in our worship and in our work. We don’t have to worship, we get to worship, we don’t have to serve, we get to serve. We have “Monday Passion”. In other words, our passion extends beyond Sundays. It’s felt by those who are around us and in our sphere of influence.

2. ____________________ - God is a God of principles and God’s people should be a

people of principle. A life of wisdom is a life that is principle centered. When principles are clear, decisions are easier. We are a people of excellence, integrity, and impact who are committed to principled centered living in every “slice” of life.

3. ____________________ - Power has a two - fold connotation. It refers to us not only

valuing the principles of God, but also the power of God. We are a people that want more than information about God but we want encounters with God that empower us to overcome and overthrow personal, cultural, and spiritual obstacles that inhibit us from experiencing God’s best. Secondly, being a people of power refers to being a people of influence. We believe that like Daniel, Nehemiah, and Joseph we are missionaries called to influence and impact culture. We are people that make a difference in the world.

4. ____________________ - Our faces are “set like flint” with an unrelenting focus to live a

purpose driven life who are not driven by unbridled ambition and comparison, but are living out of purpose and not out of emotional needs. We believe we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and we know who we are who we are not and lean into who God has called us to be and what God has called us to do. We are self-aware, not blind to our strengths and weakness and want nothing more and nothing less than God’s best for their life.

Salvation Representing Jesus by living with passion, principles, power, and purpose is the life He intends for us to live. This live begins with salvation.

Salvation gives us the ____________________ to live life as God intended.

Salvation means to be:

1. Rescued 2. Delivered 3. Recovered

God’s way is not just right, but it’s better!

Romans 10:9 (NIV) 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

This scripture is teaching us that authentic salvation requires that our heart and mouth are in agreement that we need a relationship with God. This agreement must then declare specifically that Jesus is Lord, because in order for God to save your life He has to lead it. Salvation is not a destination, it’s a door to a new life under new management. God can’t really save your life unless you let Him LEAD it. Sin (Saved FROM) We are saved from:

1. The ____________________ of sin – Impulses that are self-destructive. This means that even though we have them, they no longer have us. We now have the power to resist this flawed nature.

2. The ____________________ of sin – distance between us and God. Isaiah 59:2 (NIV) But

your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Our sins don’t change our relationship with God, but they do affect our fellowship with Him. Distance now and eternally has been rectified by Jesus.

3. The ____________________ of sin – God’s Spirit in the believer enables us to no longer be

dominated or controlled by the habits and behavior patterns that controlled and dominated us previously. We are no longer slaves to sin, because Jesus has rescued, delivered, and recovered us from that.

The Promises of God (Saved FOR) We are saved for the Promises of God. Salvation has a benefits package! Do you know what benefits you receive with your salvation?

John 10:28-29 (NIV) 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

We are saved for the Purpose of God. The purpose of God is twofold:

____________________ involves us discovering what we’re supposed to do.

____________________ – involves who we become, and who we become is impacted

by who we’re around.

We are not just saved for function, but we’re also saved for family. The word the bible uses in the New Testament for family is church. Change Church is the spiritual family that God wants to connect you with to become all that He’s created you to be. Our Mission is to help as many people as possible change their life. What do we mean when we say life change?

In order to accomplish our mission with helping people change their life we must have a movement mentality.

A ____________________ Mentality focuses on what God wants to do in a church.

A ____________________ Mentality focuses on what God wants to do in the world.

Our Vision is become a spiritual family that represents Jesus by living with passion, principles, power, and purpose. Our Philosophy is teamwork makes the dream work.

Change Track 102 | Find Strength Welcome! You’re on track to experience life change for a lifetime. God deeply desires that we get stronger. When we get stronger and better spiritually everything gets stronger and better. Therefore, an investment in your spiritual development is the most important investment you will ever make. Getting stronger and better spiritually does not fix every problem or makes every other area of your life perfect, but what we are communicating is that our spiritual life is catalytic. This is a reality we must embrace because your spiritual life is important because it is the root and primary area of your life. Without spiritual growth there are some blessings, promises, and opportunities we cannot experience.

Galatians 4:1 (NIV) What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.

Galatians 4 is teaching us that, “if you can’t grow, you can’t go to the next level.”

The Bible gives us the way in which we must grow.

Physical growth happens ____________________.

Spiritual growth requires ____________________.

The word the bible uses to describe Christians who have been saved a long time, but haven’t grown is ____________________.

• Carnality is when you’re governed by the fleshed. Romans 8:6 (NKJV) 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Life and peace only comes with spiritual maturity, and the way that we grow is through something called Spiritual ____________________.

1 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.

Spiritual Disciplines

1. ____________________ – Tony Evans once said that, “prayer is mental or oral communication with God the Father, offered in the name Jesus the Son, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit.

• Prayer increases our intimacy with God • Prayer expresses our dependency on God • Prayer is an invitation for Divine involvement

4 Keys to praying effectively include:

I. Pray ____________________. The purpose of prayer is to reach the ear of the Father,

not to impress Him.

II. Pray ____________________. The strength is not in the length of your prayers.

III. Pray ____________________. Nothing grows or works properly without consistency.

IV. Pray ____________________. Luke 11:8 (NIV) I tell you, even though he will not get

up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless

audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.

The A.C.T.S. Prayer Model Adoration – adore who God is to you. Confession – confess your sins and how you feel. Thanksgiving – thank God for your past, present, and future. Supplication – ask God to supply whatever you need.

2. ____________________ – Worship means to express God’s worth.

John 4:23-24 (NIV) 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Psalm 47: 1 (NIV) Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.

Ways to worship God is very diverse that everyone doesn’t have to do the same thing, but everyone should do something!

Page 11: Change Church€¦ · valuing the principles of God, but also the power of God. We are a people that want more than information about God but we want encounters with God that empower

Change Track 100 |www.LifeChange.org 7

We worship God with our:

I. ____________________ – Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

II. ____________________ – It is possible to be in a place physically, but our mind is in a different place. When we come before God, we must honor Him with our full attention.

III. ____________________ – The bible provides for us multiple ways to worship God which include but not limited to: Shouting; Clapping of hands; Lifting of hands; Silent reflections; Kneeling; Bowing; Standing; Dancing; Sing; Musical Instruments; etc. We won’t all do the same thing, but we should all do something.

3. The Study of ____________________ – reading God’s Word is important for receiving basic instructions before leaving earth. We believe the bible is operations manual for human species because it reveals where we came from, where we are, and where we’re going.

The bible reveals God’s plans and promises to His people and is filled with proven principles that lead us to our best life.

Joshua 1:8 (NIV) Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Just like natural food is important to the natural body, spiritual food is important to the spiritual body. God responds to the worshipper with His Presence. You must have more than a notebook filled with sermon notes, you need His Presence. Sometimes you don’t just need teaching, but you need a touch. The Presence of God heals, comforts, liberates, and refreshes. So we need His presence, but we must also apply His principles and principles are found in the word of God. 4 Ways to Develop Study Habits

I. Locate one of our Resource Centers with daily devotionals at any of our campuses.

II. Finding a good place to start reading the bible would be: • The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) • Proverbs • Ecclesiastes

III. Set a sustainable pace. IV. Stronger, Closer, Better by Dr. Dharius Daniels

Change Track 103 | Find Freedom Welcome! You’re on track to experience life change for a lifetime. An essential part of the ministry of Jesus, is the ministry of liberation.

John 8:36 (NIV) So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Why is freedom such a central part of the message and ministry of Jesus? Because experiencing life as God intended doesn’t require perfection, but it does require freedom. Emotional Freedom It’s one thing to have emotions, but it’s another thing for our emotions to have us. Our feelings should be indicators, not dictators. It is important that we are not controlled by our emotions and pursue emotional freedom. Emotional freedom comes from Inner Healing.

Psalm 147:3 (NIV) He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Every person may not have a broken heart, but we’re all brokenhearted. Meaning that all of hearts have imperfections, injuries, or issues that we need God to heal and make whole. They’re areas of our inner life we need God to heal and just because it isn’t hurting, doesn’t mean it isn’t broken.

Jeremiah 17:9 (NIV) “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

In other words, our heart is deceitful; so, our heart can be broken without us even realizing it is broken. When we go through traumatic experiences, or when we don’t get the love/support we need (particularly in our childhood years), a scab forms in our hearts the Bible calls it a heart of stones. There is some ____________________ that comes from ____________________. Some badness doesn’t get fixed until some brokenness gets healed.

Hebrews 12:15 (NIV) See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

The heart is arguably the greatest blind spot in most believer’s life, not realizing that some of their hang-ups are connected to their heart healing. Blindly believing that if they pray more, fast more, read the bible more, and engage in more religious activity that this will somehow eliminate their issues. The bible is clear that some badness is directly tied to brokenness, robbing them from the emotional quality of life that God promises to His people.

Page 14: Change Church€¦ · valuing the principles of God, but also the power of God. We are a people that want more than information about God but we want encounters with God that empower

In order to fix this, we have to face it. Here are 10 needs that every human being needs. Failure to receive them will cause an emptiness in your soul; a longing for another to fulfill what you did not receive. As you can see, each need has its own internal measuring cup. When that emotional need is met, the cup is full. When the need is not met, the cup is empty. It is when the cup is empty that the enemy comes along and fills it with lies, which must be dealt with for complete healing. With each cup, take a pen and fill in each cup according to the level of your met need. If you received a lot of respect as a child, fill that cup to the top. If you only received a little respect, fill only a little of the cup. Do the same for the other cups.

Forgiveness The second essential area of Inner Healing The first step to inner healing is ____________________. This is the only way to stop the person who hurt you from continuing to hurt you, because forgiveness is the gift that you give to yourself! Here is what forgiveness is not: Forgiveness does NOT mean you excuse the behavior of the person. Forgiveness does NOT mean you have to reconcile the relationship. Forgiveness does NOT mean that you allow someone to continue in dysfunctional behavior. Forgiveness does NOT mean that you live without boundaries. Forgiveness does NOT mean to forget. Forgiveness means to ____________________. Because God has forgiven me, I’m going to forgive others.

o It is important to know that the person who hurt you can’t heal you. This is why we must release them (write off as bad debt) what they did so God can heal you from the hurt you experienced for their offense.

What does God’s word say about FORGIVENESS? Forgiving others is an important part of the healing process. When someone’s actions have hurt us, we release them to God through forgiveness. Let’s read a few scriptures together on forgiveness and discuss them. Everything

• Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

• Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

• Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

• Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Change Track 104 | Find Purpose Welcome! You’re on track to experience life change for a lifetime. Purpose is the compilation of the reasons for the creation or existence of a thing. Sadly, most people incorrectly assume that their purpose is a thing erroneously attaching their identity to a thing. Not realizing that God did not just create us for a reason, but for ____________________. Many of us think about purpose in the spiritual area, but God has called us to do purpose in every area of our lives. Remember: You are a human being not a human doing.

Purpose is twofold: ____________________ – There are parts of our purpose as a believer that we all share. This is the responsibilities that God has given to every believer. ____________________ – This is where we make unique contributions to the world utilizing the spiritual gifts, talents, and acquired skills that God has given us. Our Unique Purpose include three areas:

Natural Talents – These are natural abilities that we were born with. Acquired SKILLS – These are skills you had to learn in order to survive or thrive. Spiritual Gifts – These are special abilities that the Holy Spirit distributes to believers so that may carry out God’s work.
