Education consists of a series of enhancements, each raising the individual to a higher level of
awareness, understanding and kinship with all living things. Education is very important amongst all of us and it is a fact which
cannot be denied by anybody. With an ever increasing competition in all the sectors, it has become inevitable for an individual to
acquire knowledge beyond the bookish ones. Over the years, the demand for skilled labour capable of multitasking is rising every day.
As a result, it is a necessity to adapt oneself with the need of the hour. It gives me immense happiness and pride to say that CPJ - CHS

an environment that can groom and develop their skills for a professional career. CPJ - CHS & School of Law glances itself to be one of

Sh. Subhash Chand Jain
Right from its inception in 2007, CPJ College of Higher Studies & School of Higher Studies & School of
Law has exhibited academic excellence in all the disciplines of Management, IT, Commerce & Law. With
our vision to excel in imparting high quality higher education, it has been our endeavor to continually
improve the infrastructural facilities in the college so that learning becomes a motivation for the students.
We, as the management of the college, are fully conscious of the hard core competitive scenario in today's
world and, as such, have established special cell for training and placement wherein focused emphasis is
laid on Personality Development and Communication Skills of our students. Since Faculties are the
backbone of any educational institute, identification of competent faculties and their up-gradation
through Faculty Development Programmes, Guest Lectures etc. continues to be our major concern.
We have been running CPJ College with a strong belief of being an epitome of teaching and this can only be achieved by the joint efforts
of the management, senior functionaries, faculties, supporting staff and the students of our college and we are very much gearing
ahead in that direction. As such, I invite the students to join CPJ College and excel in their academics and career.

Are We Happier Than Our Forefathers
Life today is governed by the offshoots of science. We have
many new comforts of life that our forefathers did not
possess. Should we jump to the conclusion that we are
really happier than our forefathers were? It is a very puzzling
question. Let us first see what kind of life they led.
The world of our forefathers was different from that of today.
They lived in villages. Scientific inventions were not made.
There were no planes, no cars, movie, radio etc. Television
and telephones were not invented. There was no electricity
so they were deprived of all those comforts which we now
enjoy with the help of electricity. They moved in the jolting,
slow-moving carts or carriages. The life was simple. They
were engaged in tilling the soil for a living. They got their
daily needs easily. They had plenty of everything. There were
many cool and sheltered spots for innocent pleasures. They
took active part in all sorts of simple and innocent games.
Contentment and happiness prevailed there.
In our modern age, life- is full of comforts and luxuries. We
wonder how our forefathers lived without them. These are
the blessings of science. We can travel in railways, ships,
motor cars and airplanes. The old days of trouble and
difficulties have come to an end. In every walk of life we have
begun to use electricity. Medical science has done great
service to man. Even the most serious diseases are cured
very easily. When we are tired by the day's hard work, radio
and television provide us nice recreation. We have
comfortable homes, fine schools, hospitals and many other
amenities of life.
We still feel doubtful if we are really happier than our
forefathers. Material civilization has, no doubt, made a
wonderful stride but the moral development of man or moral
values has been totally neglected. It has nothing to do with
happiness, goodness, beauty, courage, adventure justice,
friendship, love of family, love of country etc. All these values
are necessary for a happy life. Scientific development has
out-stripped our spiritual or moral progress. I am of opinion
that a balance should be maintained. The existing condition
without a masks our lives miserable with a horrible future.
We live in an age when men admire riches more than
spiritual power, and long for luxury of the body than the
peace of mind. This age of materialism will never be happy
till men pay more attention to the old values taught by our
forefathers. True happiness is a state of the mind, can better
be attained in the cottage than in the king's palace.

Save Girl Child
'How sad, many girls missing from our country are found buried
in some graveyard…
India is growing dynamically in every fields. Today, the boom
in economy, innovative technologies and improved
infrastructure has become nation's pride. The country has
witnessed advancements in all fields but bias against a girl
child is still prevailing in the country.
This social evil is deep rooted in Indian ethos and the most
shocking fact is that the innovative and hard high end
technologies are brutally killing the Indian girl child.
Innovative techniques, like biopsy, ultrasound, scan tests
and amniocentesis, devised to detect genetic abnormalities,
are highly misused by number of families to detect gender of
the unborn child. These clinical tests are highly contributing
to the rise in genocide of the unborn girl child.
In today's day and age most couples prefer the process
known as a planned pregnancy, because of various factors;
prime amongst them being the financial well being to
support the birth and nurturing of a child. In such cases, the
first prenatal visit actually happens prior to actual
pregnancy, to see whether one is ready to go off the
contraception pills and conceive a baby.
However, in maximum conceptions, one is unaware of the
pregnancy until actual realization dawns after one skips the
first menstrual cycle. Normally doctors except ladies to pay
their first visit anywhere between the sixth and twelfth week
after conception.
Amniocentesis started in India in 1974 to detect fetal
abnormalities. These tests were used to detect gender for
the first time in 1979 in Amritsar, Punjab. Later the test was

stopped by the Indian Council of Medical Research but it
was too late. The benefits of these tests were leaked out and
people started using it as an instrument for killing an
innocent and unborn girl child. Many of the traditional
women organizations also took up cudgels to stop this
illegal practice but all failed and with the passage of time
these tests became a major contributor to bias against a girl
child.
Female feticide and infanticide is not the only issues with a
girl child in India. At every stage of life she is discriminated
and neglected for basic nutrition, education and living
standard. When she was in the womb, she was forced to
miss the moment when she was supposed to enter the
world. At the time of birth her relatives pulled her back and
wrung her neck. After killing her she was thrown into a trash
can.
During childhood, her brother was loaded with new shoes,
dresses and books to learn while she was gifted a broom, a
wiper and lots of tears. In her teenage, she missed tasty
delicious food to eat and got only the crumbs. During her
college days, she was forced to get married, a stage where
illiteracy, lack of education resulted in high fertility rate,
aggravating the condition of females in the country. Again if
this female gives birth to a girl child, the journey begins once
again. She missed all roses of life and was finally fitted to a
graveyard. That's where she got peace of mind.
The nation of mothers still follows a culture where people
idolizes son and mourns daughters. UN figures out that
about 750,000 girls are aborted every year in India. Abortion
rates are increasing in almost 80% of the India states, mainly
Punjab and Haryana. These two states have the highest
number of abortions every year. If the practice continues,
then no longer a day will come when Mother India will have
no mothers, potentially, no life.
We all are proud citizens of India. The need of hour is to
realize our responsibilities and give a halt to this evil crime.
What can we do to curb the brutal and undesirable practice
of mass killing girls? A determined drive can initiate a spark
to light the lamp and show the world that we all are part of
the great Mother India..

Demonetization
Demonetization is a very good tool to arrest black money. It
was implemented with a very good intention to make India
free of parallel black economy and black money.
But the actual problem was in implementation. A lot of
homework was needed for taking into account few critical
issues of common people like critical illness, small
business, old age people's concern, farmer's issues,
inefficiency of rural banks etc. It is because demonetization
brought a phobia of non-eligibility of old currencies in
hospital and other vital shops even after permission of the
government for critical issues of common people. It is
because government cannot manage each and every
person. It has been noticed that many institutions and
medical shops have denied to accept old currency. It is also
because these person or institution might had black money
and were unable to accept more old currencies. These are
the hidden issues that must be thought before theoretical
homework. A macro and micro assessment were needed for
ground level problems.
As far as I know, the decision may brighten the future of
nation, but it`s social benefit and loss cannot be calculated
right now. And it is too early to produce data of benefit or
loss. After 31st December the picture will be somewhat
clear. A big support will be needed to correct the problems of
small businessmen facing the monitory transaction.
Undeclared income is usually obtained through illegal
means or is the direct result of corruption. A swift
crackdown on this can lead to a weeding out of corruption on
a nationwide scale, The government also mentioned this
was a move to promote digital transactions and e-wallets so
as to improve surveillance using economic transactions. A
credit or debit card or e-wallet transactions can be
monitored via the banking computers and this can give the
government precise data on what a person doing at different
times of the day helping them identify potential criminals
before they commit a crime. Separating anti-government
and anti-national voices would be a key part of this
surveillance. Any activity that tries to impact nationalistic
sentiments should not be allowed but dissent is as much a
part of democracy as elections and discouraging
constructive criticism is not an acceptable practice in any
democratic setup.
On November 8th 2016 the prime minister of India,
announced on television that 1000 and 500 notes will no
longer be legal tender from midnight that day. The timing of
the announcement was impeccable, it was announced at
42
CPJ
night 8 o'clock on prime time television just as the news of
Donald Trump's election victory in the United States of
Amer ica was fi l ter ing through. As soon as the
announcement was made, questions were raised about the
legality of the issue. The paper currency of a country is given
its value by the gold reserves maintained by the Reserve
Bank of the country. This reserve gives the reserve bank
governor the power to distribute legal documents to the
citizens that we refer to as currency notes. It is ultimately the
decision of the reserve bank governor if a currency can be
legal tender or not and the Prime Minister's popularity made
him the perfect person to announce this move to the
country. In his announcement the prime minister said this is
a move to combat undeclared income and counterfeit
currency.
Demonetization was a major move in keeping with the
Government's promise to tax all undeclared assets in the
nation. Over the course of the years the government had
asked citizens to declare their undeclared assets with
increasing fines the later they declared it. The fines levied
increased rapidly during the course of the last two years
with 10% tax being levied at the start of the tenure now
increasing to 45% tax for those who declare undeclared
assets by September 2017. The prime minister in his speech
announcing demonetization said that 1.25 lakh crore rupees
of black money had been already retrieved. A retrospective
look on whether demonetization was necessary is an
exercise of futility. What is more significant is understanding
the impact it will have on the economic, social and political
situation in the country. ₹1000 and ₹500 notes made up
roughly 85% of the circulating cash in the country. An
overnight announcement giving no time for preparation left
a large percentage of the country cashless. This threw the
banks into crisis control mode with long lines being the
norm in every branch. There were numerous instances of
crowds becoming uncontrollable and causing damage to
bank property. The biggest impact was the non-functioning
of ATMs as they were not recalibrated for the new notes. The
Reserve Bank had instructed the banks to stock ATMs with
100 rupee notes. Prime Minister gave strong decision to not
to levy toll tax to keep the economy on right track. In real
sense it helped a lot to the road transport. The old currencies
validation at Indian Railway was also a big support to the
railway transport. These decisions were very much effective
to save the foundation of our economy. These decisions are
praiseworthy.
The immediate after effect of demonetization was a cash
crunch like never before. The lines at banks meant that
essential human resource was wasted standing in queues
and this meant the economy was almost at a standstill.
Most of the transactions that would have happened on a
daily basis ceased almost completely. In rural regions
essential services including health care was delayed and the
agriculture sector employees were affected heavily. The
biggest benefactors were digital wallets and the net-
banking sector, Paytm-a digital wallet application reported a
300% increase in downloads. It is assumed that undeclared
income of rupees four lakh crores from various sources all
over the country will be recovered or become redundant.
Economists predict that over the long term, demonetization
will lead to reduced interest rates and also cause an
increase in investment in the real estate sector. The smallest
action is better than the greatest intention-even though
demonetization was announced with good intentions-it
affected the lower and middle class heavily as compared to
the affluent class.
There is no doubt that e-transaction will strengthen the
people of India. It will brings the transparency in the
economy. We can sure hope a good future with this decision.
The black money must be arrested at any cost. We should
learn quickly the e-transaction process to make paperless
economy.
The facts and figures are completely a personal assessment
and tried best to present in correct form, however you need
to match the data from other resources also.

No! I'm Not Starving Myself To Death.
I know, title sounds like it's something about self destruction
but trust me it's not. In fact it's about self love! Have you ever
encountered with the human version of migraine? Well I do
on regular basis. These people ridicule me by saying
"Kuchkhayakaro" or "don't you eat anything?” Yes, I do eat
according to my needs & no, I'm not starving myself to death.
Then there are people who actually confuse me if they are
complimenting me or insulting in disguise by saying "you
look too young to be in college". Yeah, thanks for saying you
find my body underdeveloped and I lack curves.

Most of the girls are unaware of the fact that they are
actually being body shammed! Usually when we talk about
body shamming, first word which strikes our mind is “Fat”
but irony is, skinny girls like me have to face body shamming
too! It's sickening that girls like me have to explain that they
aren't facing any eating disorders, aren't anorexic and are
born with naturally tiny body frame. Oh, and I love comments
like "take my share; you need it more than I do". What?? What if
you were overweight and I said to you "you don't need that"
when you were about to eat something? I think it's funny
when people actually try to figure out the 'Secrets Of
Naturally Thin People' (Eye rolls). They are born with tiny
body frames! They don't do anything to look skinny.
It's infuriating how people find it their moral responsibility to
allegate my parents by saying "mummy papa khana nahi dete
kya?” I have to watch my words because my “I don't want to
eat this” is always encountered with “Are you dieting? You
don't need it anyway.” Trying to eat healthy and avoiding junk
food is not an eating disorder.
As a child I was always called by names such as 'skeleton',
'stick', 'pencil' and so on. It made me self conscious and I
started hating my body. I wish I could somehow go back in
time and tell myself to be proud of myself and grab all
possible opportunities which I lost due to lack of confidence
because as I grew up, I realized that no matter what you do or
say, people will judge you. They will make perceptions, will
say you are anorexic and continue body shaming you.
Shout out to girls who continue loving themselves even after
being body shammed. It takes strength of universe to be
polite to such blood boilers and hold back eye rolls & snappy
replies but girls don't lose your control stay strong and make
people aware of the difference between being anorexic and
having small body frame. Eat according to your needs and
don't stuff yourself with food just to avoid other's comments
because you cannot be a people pleaser every time.Your
body is home for your soul, don't hate it. Keep it clean, feed it
right and worship it. Love yourself as Gautama Buddha said
“you yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe
deserve your love and affection”.

Poem on Press the Right Key
My finger hovers
Shall I turn you on today
You lie there tempting me
I need to know what buttons to press
But when I press those buttons
You respond immediately and burst into life
Every Wednesday you leave me little messages
I try to ignore them but you are so persistent
You want to update
I want to write
I press any key to continue
And you ignore me and update anyway
My husband is fed up with the distress you cause me
He has a cunning plan to fix you forever ...
No more automatic updates
From now on you and I can live together in perfect harmony
I can press the right keys to update you when it suits ME
Now I am in complete control!

Need For Uniform Civil Code In India
The question whether India should have one common,
secular, family law or uniform civil code is a socio-legal
political question. The answer to this question wholly
depends on political spirit. It is a mandate addressed by
article 44 of Constitution of India. Unfortunately, in country
legal questions are often exploited for election prospects.
Not much progress has been made towards achieving this
goal and still remains a distant dream. The only tangible
step taken in this direction has been codification and
secularisation of Hindu law. Article 44 of the Constitution of
India requires state to secure for citizens of India a uniform
civil code throughout India. It is necessary that law be
divorced from religion. With the enactment of uniform code,
secularism will be strengthened; much of present-day
separation and divisiveness between the various religious
groups in the country will disappear, India will emerge as a
much more cohesive and integrated nation. The founders of
the Constitution have witnessed painful effect to have two
laws resulting in lamentable partition of India. Hence, in the
Constituent Assembly it was made clear that, in a secular
state personal law relating to marriage, succession but
must rest on law of land. The Supreme Court has
emphasised that steps be initiated to enact a uniform code
as envisaged in Art. 44. Thecourt emphasised in Sarla
Mudgal v. Union of India, AIR 1995 SC 1531 that Art.44 is
based on the concept that there is no necessary relation and
personal law in civilised society. Article 25 guarantees
religious freedom whereas Art.44 seeks to divest religion
from social relations and personal law. In this case the court
pleaded for a uniform civil code for protection of the
oppressed and promotion of national unity and solidarity. In
Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum, AIR1985 SC 945 ,
44
CPJ
the Supreme Court emphasised: “Common civil code will
help the cause of national integration by removing disparate
loyalties to laws which have conflicting ideologies”. The
Court appreciates the difficulties involved in bringing
persons of different faiths persuasions on a common
platform, but, nevertheless, the Court has said, “a beginning
has to be made if the Constitution is to have any meaning.”
“It is a state which is charged with the duty of securing a
uniform civil code for citizens of the country and,
unquestionably, it has the legislative competence to do.”In
the backdrop of it, it is submitted that a Commission or
Committee be appointed to prepare a model of uniform civil
code applicable to all Indians as it will bring silver lining for
citizens. If the scales of pan are to be met then uniform civil
must be enacted. A common civil code will help the cause of
national integration by removing the contradictions based
on ideologies.

Demonetization - A Cash Less Economy
Demonetization is the act of stripping a currency unit of its
status as legal tender. It occurs whenever there is a change of
national currency: The current form or forms of money is
pulled from circulation and retired, often to be replaced with
new notes or coins. Sometimes, a country completely replaces
the old currency with new currency. The demonetization move
which is presently considered as the mother of all change in
India has begun demonstrating its positive effects in brief
time. The demonetization assertion expresses that 500 and
1000 notes reformative move has brought some hard life for
ordinary citizens yet it will pass soon.
On the 8th of November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
made a very bold and historical move by demonetizing the
Indian currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 and
introduction of Rs 2000 notes. Which created a buzz in the
country leading to serpentine lines outside the ATMs. Prime
Minister Modi made the decision in a secret meeting where
very people were present so that the very reason behind the
demonetization is not hampered by the disclosure of the
news by giving chance to hoarder of black money to find the
solution of their problem.
Demonetization was introduced to tackle three main
problems which are counterfeit currency, terrorist financing
and black money. These are the 3 major problems that our
45
country is facing, which have to be given priority in order to
give a push for development. After demonetization the
government's is driving the people to go cashless for mopping
up taxes on every rupee being transacted in the country. With
this move, millions of Indians are worried, how safe is their
money in the cashless economy, because Internet banking
frauds has been increasing many folds and currently
constitutes 59% of all the cyber-crimes committed in India.
The common man is worried about such an increasing rate
of online fraud on which they have no control or protection
from the government. worries exacerbates from the fact
even Home Ministry's statistics has admitted that there has
been 40% increase in online fraud cases in the country. If one
may recall just few weeks before the government announced
its demonetization policy on Nov 8, 2016, India reported its
biggest internet banking security breach. Over 3 million debit
cards and their pin numbers, including those powered by
MasterCard and Visa, were stolen on October 20, 2016.
The Ministry of Finance reported that Rs. 2.5 lakh was stolen
from the various accounts across the country. Multiple
public and private banks were affected by this cyber-attack
and every individual using these cards became vulnerable
across India of their money being stolen.
The PwC report stated that the good news is number of
Indians shopping through their mobiles had increased by
800 percent. The bad news is Indians at the same time have
become vulnerable to various types of frauds while using
mobile banking and mobile wallets. The mobile wallets are
prone to misuse and could lead to unauthorized deductions
from the wallet of a customer even without their knowledge.
The report further says, the irony is mobile payments in India
are still not governed by any legal provisions. These
payments are mostly contractual obligations. With lax cyber
security, mobile banking is a highly risky operation in India.
This is more so because many banks appoint a third party
vendor to develop and manage mobile banking applications.
This gives the vendor access to critical bank account
information of the customer which could be misused by
some unscrupulous persons. With RBI issuing the data that
85% of the all reported transactions at banks in 2015-16
were through the internet in volume terms, it is high time that
the government frames rules and regulation to secure the
people's money deposited in the banks.
CPJ
Currently, people have faith in the banking and delegates
them the responsibility to keep their money safe. In the final
analysis, one can say that the dream of cashless economy
can only be realized, only if the government takes adequate
security measures of any online fraud. It has to give a
guarantee that in case of breach of system the entire money
lost will be compensated to the victims. Such assurance
alone can give security to the customers' and pave the way
for cashless economy in the country.

In my clear sky of my mind,
I was searching for a cloud to find,
There I saw a massive cloud across,

So, I made my cloud to rain,
But that cloud gave me lots of pain,
I remember my mom in the memories,
Because she gave me no worries.
I thought of the girls starving to learn,

So, we gave them little education and,
They learned with the perfect dedication.
Three cheers for our prime minister,
