Announcing the Business of the Yearand Citizen of the Year!

Page 3Page 2

Let’s congratulate our 2014 Award winners!

Business of the Year: Ray Mac Mechanical

John and Genese McDowell run a successful heating and air conditioning business that hires and trains local citizens for their team. John and Genese are major contributors to charities around the Mt. Shasta area and are always willing to help.

Citizen of the Year: Eric Dyck

The person who nominated him said it’s “hard to mention all that Eric Dyck has done for the City of Mount Shasta.” Among his many contributions are Dyck’s role in lowering the Mount Shasta ISO rating, to give residents better insurance premiums; his role as president of the Mount Shasta Volunteer Firemen’s Association, where he organizes successful fundraisers for that organization and for the community; his key role in transforming the downtown city quad into Santa’s Village for the annual Tree Lighting each winter; and his work as both assistant chief in the Mount Shasta Fire Department, and as an advisor to the department’s Explorer program.

“When help is needed, even in the middle of the night, he is always one of the first ones to respond, bringing comfort to all he assists.”
