These are unprecedented times for our communities and businesses. As I write this for the April edition I am still muddling through an abundance of information, notices and press releases regarding the Coronavirus Pandemic. What I know now, and all this is subject to change is that most everything has been cancelled or postponed for two weeks taking us up to the first of April.  I wish I had a crystal ball to tell me what the month of April will bring us.

The Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce has launched a new page on its website for a one-stop source of current information  and  links  to  other  organizations,  resources  and business to assist during this time. Visit pvchamber.org and click on the Prescott Valley Together link on the front page for access to that information.

As for now in anticipation of a prolonged need for discon-tinuing large public gatherings the following has been can-celled, postponed or changed.April 4 - Eggstravaganza & Family Arts Festival - cancelled.April 15 - Chamber Business After Hours mixer - cancelled.April 19 - Badges and Bobbers and Gold Fever Day  postponed until fall.April 21 - Chamber Quarterly Breakfast cancelled.

We recommend you continued to support our businesses by purchasing from them online, ordering to go or seeing if they have curbside delivery. Many are making these adjustments to their business plan to keep their doors open.

Again, visit pvchamber.org - Prescott Valley Together for ongoing information.

Graduating students from Prescott Valley Schools or stu-dents who live in Prescott Valley but attend school else-where are eligible to apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships of-fered by the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce. Requirements are that they must be a graduating senior and that funds must be used for Fall 2020.

Scholarships are available for any accredited university, college, business, trade or technical school. Applications are reviewed by a committee composed of the Chamber Scholarship Chair, a Chamber Ambassador and a mem-ber at large and awards are made directly to the institu-tion the student plans on attend-ing. Deadline for submission is April 24, 2020. Awards will be announced in May 2020.
