Global Innovation Exchange Details: The Global Innovation Exchange is an online marketplace for innovations, funding, insights, resources and conversations, allowing the world to better work together to address humanity’s greatest challenges.Tips: You can use their filter functionality to search for opportunities by type, amount, sector, country, etc.

Vista Ventures Social Impact FundDetails: Vista Ventures Social Impact Fund seeks quality early stage social enterprises in East Africa for a possible investment of $100,000 to $250,000 USD or more to expand their business. Their investment in qualifying enterprises would be only a part of that amount but they would help identify other accredited investors to complete the investment round.Tips: Only applications from early stage companies with revenue from customers will be considered. Companies do not yet need to be profitable. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Specific guidelines are available on their website.

Anzisha PrizeDetails: The Anzisha Prize awards young entrepreneurs (15 -22 yrs) who have developed and implemented innovative solutions to social challenges or started successful businesses within their communities. 12 finalists will win an all-expenses paid trip to South Africa to be a part of a week-long entrepreneurship workshop and conference at the African Leadership Academy campus on the outskirts of Johannesburg. The grand prize winners, selected from these finalists, will share prizes worth $75,000 USD. Tips: Applications are now closed - stay tuned for application announcements for 2018. DRK FoundationDetails: Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation is a global venture philanthropy firm supporting early stage, high impact social enterprises. They invest in early stage organizations and are often first institutional investors. They provide $300,000 of unrestricted capital over 3 years, support organizations by joining their board of directors, and partner with the organizational leadership to help build capacity and scale impact.Tips: Applications are accepted year round. Global Fund for ChildrenDetails: The Global Fund for Children finds and invests in small, locally led organizations that transform the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children. Their partners are in the early stages of development and operate primarily in developing countries. They make yearly, unrestricted cash grants of $5,000 to $30,000 over 3 to 7 years in addition to other support.Tips: Letters of inquiry are accepted year round. Segal Family FoundationDetails: Segal Family Foundation (SFF) partners with outstanding organizations improving and cultivating healthy, productive, and empathetic youth. Their target areas are: adolescent sexual and reproductive health, improve access to quality education, and increase youth employment. Most of their grantees are based in East Africa.Tips: SFF presents clear guidelines on their website for grantseekers that explain what they look for in organizations (stage of maturity, fit, etc.) and what their granting restrictions are. They have a rolling application process and aim to provide feedback within a few weeks. Due diligence, including a site visit, may take several months.

Rockefeller FoundationDetails: The Rockefeller Foundation is dedicated to promoting the well-being of humanity throughout the world; they pursue that mission with dual goals of building greater resilience and advancing more inclusive economies. They strive to catalyze and scale transformative innovations, convene sector-spanning partnerships, and create systemic change to benefit poor and vulnerable people around the world.Tips: Applications are accepted year round. Detailed eligibility and guidance is available on their website. Particular thematic areas of relevance include: secure livelihoods and inclusive economies.

The Fletcher D-PrizeDetails: D-Prize supports new entrepreneurs who increase access to proven poverty interventions, particularly: girls education, agriculture, energy, global health, and education. At least one person on your team must be a current student or a graduate of Tufts’ Fletcher School. D-Prize is open to all Fletcher students, alumni, and Tufts undergraduates. Specific challenge details are available on their website.Tips: 2017 applications are now closed. Check back for the opening call for 2018 submissions. If selected, $20,000 is awarded for pilot launch.

Disability Rights FundDetails: The Disability Rights Fund is a grantmaking collaborative that supports persons with disabilities around the world to build diverse movements, ensure inclusive development agendas, and achieve equal rights and opportunity for all. DRF has two funding rounds per year: Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are publicized in February (Round 1) and July (Round 2).Tips: Letters of inquiry are open to applicants from Uganda who did not receive DRF or DRAF funding in 2016. This deadline is July 10, 2017.

ABILIS FoundationDetails: ABILIS Foundation gives small grants ranging from 500 - 10,000 Euros to disabled persons’ organizations launching new projects. Applications are open year round. ABILIS has application forms available upon request by the applicant.Tips: Special priority is given to projects advocating for the human rights of disabled people and for activities developed by disabled women.

Gray Ghost VenturesDetails: Gray Ghost Ventures invests equity in early-stage enterprises located in emerging markets that seek to improve the lives of underserved people through sustainable and scalable business models. Tips: This funding is for early stage entrepreneurs and social enterprises.

Grinnell PrizeDetails: The Grinnell College Innovator for Social Justice Prize (the Grinnell Prize) honors individuals who have demonstrated leadership in their fields and who show creativity, commitment, and extraordinary accomplishment in effecting positive social change. Each prize carries an award of $100,000, half to the winning individual(s) and half to their organization.Tips: Nominations open for the 2018 Grinnell Prize on July 15, 2017.

Global Partnership for EducationDetails: GPE’s vision calls for inclusive and equitable quality education for all, and aims to reach the poorest and most marginalized, including children with disabilities. They provide developing country partners with funding and guidance to undertake education sector analysis, as well as to develop and implement robust education sector plans that include strategies afford marginalized children can have access to school. International Foundation of Applied Disability ResearchDetails: Projects emphasize the concrete application of knowledge and research results. Selected projects will provide concrete, useful solutions for those involved in the field, such as people with disabilities, their families and careers, and professionals. The Pro Victimis FoundationDetails: PVF supports initiatives restore or give greater autonomy to the most vulnerable groups or segments of the population. Priority is given to projects targeting communities that are victims of exceptional circumstances (extreme exploitation, chronic consequences of armed conflicts, natural or industrial disasters, etc.).Tips: Detailed criteria and application guidelines are available online.

The Software AG FoundationDetails: The Software AG Foundation’s mission to fund initiatives which produce sustainable relationships between people - relationships in which every person is valued for his or her unique individual characteristics and special place in the world. The Foundation exclusively funds projects carried out by independent non-profit organisations that provide an immediate benefit to the community. Cruyff FoundationDetails: Cruyff Foundation supports the International Tennis Federation to set up and simulate wheelchair tennis in various developing countries. It also organizes sporting events for disabled youth in India and supports various projects in Africa.Tips: Applications must be received at least two months prior to the proposed activity and will usually receive a response within two months.

The Liliane FoundationDetails: The Liliane Foundation supports children and youth with disabilities who live in poverty, allowing them to participate equally and as fully as possible in their families and communities, so that their lives have the highest possible quality. By working with local partner organizations, they empower children by increasing the child’s personal, social, educational and economic strengths, to become agents of change in their own communities.Tips: Organizations that are interested in becoming a partner of the Liliane Foundation can contact the Strategic Partner Organization in their country – information available on website.

The Nippon FoundationDetails: The Nippon Foundation is providing aid to projects in several sectors including overseas cooperative assistance, particularly cross-border, transnational activities; local and regional undertakings that may fall outside the reach of the public sector or other donor agencies; and initiatives to tackle pressing issues and long-range or persistent problems that require prompt and systemized care. Grants are given to programs planned and conducted by overseas non-profit organizations in such areas as basic human needs, human resources development, and promotion of international cooperation.Tips: Applications accepted only by mail throughout the year. This report looks at the benefits of financing disability-inclusive education, the current state of education financing with regard to inclusion, and what needs to change in order for education financing to effectively support the realisation of Sustainable Development Goals.Tips: Join the call to action to invest in disability inclusive education at this link here.

End the CycleDetails: End the Cycle is an initiative of CBM International, an international Christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world. End the Cycle promotes tools and resources to help international development practitioners raise awareness and practice disability inclusive development. Tips: End the Cycle’s free and downloadable resources can be used in all sorts of activities and programs to powerfully portray the cycle of poverty of disability, and that it can end when persons with disabilities are included in development programs.

Stanford StartXDetails: StartX is an educational non-profit that accelerates the development of global entrepreneurs tackling big issues through experiential education and collective intelligence. Provides mentorship, tools and resources, and some startup capital for social enterprises. Tips: This program is great for any early stage entrepreneurs and social enterprises that are looking to scale or grow their company.

The Leprosy Mission InternationalDetails: The Leprosy Mission works together with organizations of persons with disabilities (DPOs) and with other NGOs to break down barriers for people with disabilities in all aspects of life.
