3. MARINEFISHERIES3.1. Trend in Marine Fisheries

3.1.1. Marine fish production

The year 2012-13 has witnessed increase in total marine fish production by 43.66 %

in quantity while !alue has increased by 123."# % compared to 200$-10. ince 1$$&-$#

marine fish production has increased durin' 2010-11 and has continued to increase up to2012-13. (alue of the fish catch has also shown the similar trend.

)urin' the year 2012-13 *ac+erel contributed about 2$.16 % of the total marine fishlandin's followed by tomatopod oratosquilla ,12.34 % il sardine ,&.$1 % quids ,&.46

*onth wise marine fish catch showed considerable !ariations. *aimum landin'

purse seiners.
